YES!!!!! I wore block braids for 6 months straight in 2023. Took down 1 random braid once a month to monitor hair/scalp health. I washed every week. Deep conditioned. I will say take down process took a month. I went slow and took my time...6 months of matted hair. I gained 5.5 inches!! Doing it again in June.

Can you tell me the routine?
@hotbluflame29332 ай бұрын
@@nondumisogasser7155 yep. I put my hair in medium-small twists. I coat the ends with my favorite edge control. That keeps my ends in tact. I wash them, concentrating on my scalp, and condition them, concentrating on my hair. I make a braid spray of aloe vera juice, Infusium 23, and vegetable glycerin to keep them moisturized. I redo a section of them every couple of weeks. And I take them down one twist at a time, clean up the parts, and retwist them. I think maintaining the original parts is important because it dramatically reduces breakage. Hope this helps.

Looks like you have Type 3 hair. I wonder how this would look and work with Type 4C. Many years ago, I grew my hair, long using box braids. However, I was using extension hair. it got to be very expensive and time-consuming to have them removed, hair, tangled, reinstalled. I don’t know that most women could use this method, because of the uneven hair length. It does look great on you.

thanksssssss!! but naw, I have all ranges of type 4 texture 🤗 and I agree with you, extensions can get pricey and they can cause more issues than good sometimes

Do you rebraid your plaits or touch them up before taking them out completely after weeks of wearing them.

Could one do the same with twists?
@SharatiaBanks3 ай бұрын
Sure! I’ve seen many do twists instead of plaits. I, personally can’t do twists cause I’ll have to redo them after 2 weeks whereas with these I can get away with waiting 4 weeks

Do you think adding beads to the end would help or hurt retention?

Def hurt for me.. with my strands being extra fine, I don’t need that extra tension
