Fun fact: In the Itachi novels he was actually 12 years old when he became anbu. The hokage forged the papers to say he was 13 because he was too young but that skilled.

I'd like to think Kakashi summoned Guy as soon as he saw Itachi and Kisame, and was like "I don't care where you are, or what you're doing, come back to the village NOW", cause let's just say, there's a reason Itachi said "don't underestimate him" about Guy, and Kakashi is only an A rank ninja, compared to Guy, who's obviously an S rank ninja, from what we've seen Rock Lee do. And Itachi being chief of the ANBU doesn't mean the top leader, cause that's the hokage, but it means Chief of an ANBU squad, consiting of 5-7 people. There are some fillers in Shippuden that goes into Kakashi and Itachi's relationship when they were younger, and their time together in the ANBU, before Itachi killled the Uchiha clan. Those episodes should've been canon, cause they're really good. But not as good as the 2 Itachi novels, which are the true canon version of Itachi's story.

Kekkei genkai is being born with a jutsu that other clan has, and you cannot learn, or even copy with the sharingan. The sharingan, byakugan, Haku's crystal ice mirror jutsu, and the first hokage's secret earth forest jutsu, those are all bloodline or clan dependant, with the uchiha having the sharingan, and only the first hokage having that earth forest jutsu.

I mean the biggest hint is you seen what lee can do once he starts opening gates (lee maxes out at 5 gates) And Guy taught him that. Kakashi even said during the lee fight: "By opening all 8 gates you can attain power even beyond the hokage, the only drawback is you die"

The Mangekyo Sharingan is when you go beyond those 3 dots inside an ordinary sharingan eye, but in this episode, they didn't know what Itachi's version should look like yet, so it just looks normal. And in the Itachi novels, which you should read after Shippuden, Itachi used the Tsukuyomi time warp jutsu on another person in a very interesting way, which isn't in the Anime at all, so look forward to reading that chapter in the book.

Second, just to touch on something that might be relevant to remember. This was mentioned during the Zabuza/Haku arc, but a Kekkei Genkai is basically a "special" ability of certain Ninjas that cannot be learnt, obtained or copied; it's passed through bloodlines. So yes Sasuke has the Kekkei Genkai of the Uchiha because he was born into it. Kakashi wasn't (as indicated by his last name) so even though he does have a Sharingan he doesn't have the Kekkei Genkai

He wasn't trying to kill Kakashi with that jutsu, and you'll find out why later. But he easily could have, and in many other ways as well. I'd like to see Itachi fight every single akatsuki member... 1. Tsukuyomi in Japanese mythology is the name for the "Moon God" because in Japanese the word "Tsuki" means Moon, so from that we have Tsuki-Tsukuyomi etc etc. In this case Tsukuyomi is exactly this skill that Itachi performed on Kakashi. 2. As far as Itachi's Sharingan is concerned, it is like if a person took a seal and slapped it on paper, it would be clearly visible on the paper, while on the other hand, Kakashi's Sharingan is the same seal but a seal that has been repeatedly slapped on paper, so it clearly and can't see the print on the paper (I just explained this to you the difference between Itachi's and Sasuke's sharingan which is a clear print vs. Kakashi's which faded on the paper from being hit) 3. If Itachi is a beast to you, I can only imagine what you will say about the other members of the Akatsuki organization once they reveal themselves as Kisame and Itachi 😏

Just correcting a mistranslation Itachi was an Anbu Captain/Squad Leader not the Chief of Anbu, that's the Hokage and another Character you will meet later on. The Captains/Squad Leaders are High Tier Jonin, which are the ones with the white Cloaks, Dark Cloaked ones are just members which are Mid Tier Jonin. Kurenai is a newly promoted Jonin, Kakashi, Guy and Asuma are Top Tier Jonin even above the Anbu Captains.
