That Mako was displaying some clearly pissed off territorial behaviour. "Oi mate these are my fish, fuck off out me patch!" 100% with the aggression and the repeated charging and bumping but no biting, it was telling you in no uncertain terms to fuck off or else haha. Great vid, some wild encounters here! Feel bad for the tiger but you absolutely did the only sane thing there by putting the pointy thing between you and the shark. Surprised by that sudden turn of aggression after it had been so chill. Didn't even look like it was sussing you out beforehand either. Really weird for it to suddenly shift in temperament like that! Just goes to show that you can never take for granted whatever knowledge you have about animals. They're still highly unpredictable and dangerous and you have to keep your wits about you and respect them.

You are not the Hunted, They come to get your Fish. And go berseck and might try to get a bite of you. Most of the time you are a very big fish in the water and they come to check you out. They keep the distance. When Young tried to hunt and shoot some, for the fun and record. Only once got close enough for a shot. They are very vary. Have had some dumb ones come very close(close to pinch then with the gun) to check me out. The Bigest about 12 ft when I was 15-17 fishing by myself. Almost had a heart atack. But it was just there. Dove and mimiked an atack at it. swung it's tail and slownly swam away. Promptly swam to shore

@@Spearfishing-Downunder yeah apologies not very clear. Basically that sharks don’t see us as food, they see you as a threat to their food. So they think we are competing with them for the food/ fish in the area ? Territorial maybe? What do you think?
@Spearfishing-Downunder5 ай бұрын
@@SumrSurf I’d say that is unlikely, sharks don’t bite other shark for territory. I think there are lots of factors. In this video, I was nudged by the bull shark. Just enquiring to see what I was and didn’t like my reaction. The tiger was having a serious inquiry… bite to see what I was…. Lucky for me I was holding a gun. Used to be just like you guys until a 2.5 metre Grey Nurse grabbed my left leg behind the light house at Byron Bay in 2004,, just missed my major artery back of thigh,, felt like putting my knee on gutter and parking a big 4 wheel drive on my knee thigh calf area but with teeth going through my leg . So lucky it let me go, it wanted my 13kg Jewy and it got it ! !,, I also had a huge Whaler barge me at Lennox, on the left rear arse hip,, knocked me a metre to the right,, plus many more Bulls Whalers same as yo guys ect . The Nurse though I slowly just couldn't handle it anymore, couldn't just deal with fish gung ho in the water anymore for fear of shark attack again. Then all that fatal Great White attacks went crazy from around 2015 in this area and up down the coast I couldn't stand the fear anymore and pulled the pin on spearfishing in Australia . Don't want to put anyone off but good luck surviving Sharks as a serious spearfisher .

A few times out of thousands of dives, sharks came to get my fish. It's rare. When No Fish, they come to check you out. You are a Very big fish in the water to them and they look you over with care. Ever tried to shoot one. Not that simple. Where lot of fish and many speared ones, when you shoot you ring the dinner bell, Some sharks become used to it. When a Nuisance, a power head takes care of the problem. I saw my 1st one when spearfishing with Dad when about 11 Yrs of age back in the 1960's. And many, many more after

I got a spear gun but its just freshwater here and using a gun there is forbidden. Hope i don't are shaming your fins. I ordered them from a dive shop in los Angeles and he shipped them to me here in Norway. I swear making those 2 holes for my fins was harder than drilling through steel. I was so amazed but also so afraid to put on much force and in my head seeing them crack and split up. Nope. Never happened.
