You’ve surprised Jessica, that was pretty amplified by the microphone in the camera. It’s not really that loud in the water. That being said, you have to do your best to lower your breathing rate and your heart rate will follow. It wasn’t too bad given that it’s the start of the season. I think that 'how to behave with sharks' is like a taboo in diving. No one wants to speak about it in clubs here in Adelaide. But it is one of the possible danger occurring while diving, so we should speak about it. I think that you guys did great. Stayed low, near a hole/crack in the rocks, until being out of air or close. I'w like to believe I would have done the same. well done.
@skycloud48022 күн бұрын
It's good strategy. It minimizes the chance of sharks coming in from below or behind, and gives you a bit more of a window to tackle it head on - no matter how futile. I get the impression that sharks tend to like encircling because it gives them a sneaky bite in from behind or below unawares. A head on challenge against prey could end up with the sharks eyes gouged out or a jab to the gills. It's better than nothing.
@pascalcastellazzi4136Күн бұрын
@@skycloud4802 Well, it is also because staying above them is exactly what their prey does. It has all to do with behaving like anything but their usual preys.

GW visual acuity is similar to ours, however it can zero onto your heartbeat even when it can't see you, even from hundreds of metres away. That's why it plays hide and seek at the edge of visibility, to come in and check which way you are facing and whether it can launch an attack from below and from behind. Our heartbeat sounds like a drum to them, similar to a sea lion or seal. Even if you can't see them, they can still 'see' you audibly.
