Paul, that was brilliant , informative and well researched, I had wondered if the Greenland shark of the Island of May would get a mention and to my delight it did. I read of it in the 1960s in the Observers book of fishes. It's made my day to hear of it again. Many thanks for a great piece of work!

Hey Paul. This is very Impressive and must have taken you ages to put together. Sharks have always fascinated me ever since, while swimming about ten feet off shore on Assateague Island Virginia, I saw a fin sticking out of the water and slowly heading in my direction. I was out of the water in no time, and needed a stiff drink after. The only other time I have come in contact with sharks is at the fish and chip shops having rock salmon or huss. Thanks for this great doc. I learned a lot. Cheers, Colin
@shorefishingessex3 жыл бұрын
Lol Colin thanks, I think I would have drunk the bar dry if I would have seen a fin coming towards me!! Rock salmon used to be my father's favourite from the chip shop, did you know the powers that be made the industry change the name of rock salmon to just 'rock', as it's name was misleading, I read that fairly recently somewhere!! All the best my friend.

Don't worry, sharks are very rare here. You will most likely never encounter any shark in your whole life unless you dive or go into the open sea, even if you come across a shark it will most likely be harmless because dangerous sharks tend to occur in tropical coastal waters.

Iwfracoom, araand da weld, nawf, Nulin, 🤣 brilliant. There was a record for a blue shark caught by a woman from torbay Quay if I remember reading right many years ago. It is videos like this that really educate people as to what's out there. The problem with it is that people listen to "behavioural experts" regarding sharks in UK waters. When they should listen to fisherman. If I shine a torch at a copse of trees and don't see a fox the argument would be they don't exist. Fisherman records are a small torch on a bloody large forest. No reason why great whites aren't in UK waters. We have large tuna, seals, whales and everything a growing shark needs. Brilliant video and only confirms that it was a completely sensible decision to hang up my trunks. Thank you.
