Could you please do a review on the Hoover Commercial Hushtone upright, because I’m thinking about buying one as My next vacuum. It seems to be Very well made, has a Two speed motor, wooden brush roll, intellibelt system, and Best of all it’s Made in AMERICA.

@@PerformanceReviews Looking for a corded stick vacuum for light things around the house to avoid pulling out our larger vacuum. Had a Dyson DC-59, but the battery keeps going out, and to replace it is $100, so thinking that I want to avoid the cordless battery option. I see that Eureka & Bissell have corded stick vacuums . . . and I know how you feel about Sharks. Do you have a favorite in the 'corded stick' category?

Our Shark Duo Clean worked okay picking up dog hair on the carpet until it did not. It is now jammed with long dog hair to the point where the main roller will not turn. I can find no instructions as to how to remove the cover to access the jammed area or the drive belt. No vacuum we have tried so far can deal with the long, shepherd, dog hair with our jamming.

In my opinion Shark is all hype, I was really trying to give Shark a fair shake. Yet, after this review, it opened my eyes up even more.

We used to service Sharks at my store. But after hearing just how underpowered they are and how they have no parts available, we don't service them anymore. We tell people to throw it out and buy a Dyson from us if they want a bagless vacuum. Though just like you, I like bagged vacuums better because they are easier on the motor and will last longer. I really recommend a Miele or a Sebo.

They don't have good reviews look at Amazon or any place elsewhere consumers leave reviews. There is a team of paid influencers who give them good press. But those are pretty obvious.

I’m switching to a bagged vacuum. I’m tired of emptying the bin after every room and washing the filters is a pain. Of course, “emptying the bin” always means a trip to the garage trash bins. At least I got five years out of it, but I don’t want another.

I’d rather have a cheap bissell powerforce helix than that overhyped shark. At least that cheap bissell will last at least 2 years. For me, I would go for a Miele canister with a power nozzle. I love the soft tones, longevity, and the powerful nature of a Miele.

Ha. Last time I looked at your favs they cost 2-4 x as much. It makes no sense to even review these given that point. Just tell everyone to but a lexus because all fords suck. Not everyone wants or can afford a lexus. More importantly, I know several people (me included) that have gotten years of good use from Sharks.

There are definitely some budget options I recommend like the Hoover tempo and Henry's. But going to your example is yes both the Ford and Lexus have crash safety and get to 60 mph. But the shark never gets to 60 MPH and has no crash safety this is more like comparing a Vespa versus a car

Pay close attention to the suction test. He had it on minimum suction at first, then flicked the switch on the handle to max and the suction went up to 30. But he replayed the minimum suction on slow-mo and claimed that was the number. This guy is clearly biased and deceptive and I’m not sure why.

One time, my wife wanted a vacuum that didn't require our central vacuum. Her parents got us a Shark Power Lift away. She said "I didn't ask for this. I asked for a nice Miele upright, or even a Dyson."

Duoclean breaks within a few months, not serviceable, they have to replace the entire head units and they charge you the price of the vacuum for it. Terrible system.

Convincing argument, but also fairly biased ("new filter every 3-6 months... it's meant to be thrown away after 6 mo's- a yr"), and I don't think you used the terms great, excellent etc, even 1 time. I heard decent, bad, worst I've seen, terrible etc. But... Maybe you're right. Vacuum cleaners in general are definitely outside my area of expertise At any rate, thanks for the info
