@SV Pilgrims Way what sort of jig are they using? MiQ's are pretty heavy and heavy duty. a far cry from a squid jig . It was interesting to see the Swedish lure meet a Bahamian fish

Soggy Bottom Right! So many vids about snorkelling coral reefs and so few discussing on how to respect ✊🏽 them. There are quite enough threats already and we don’t want to make them suffer from us visiting them. 🔍 Watching, enjoying and leaving them untouched is the most rewarding way for organisms at large, imho.

Hello Luckyfish Crew, Them Baccarudda are the Wolves of the Sea, Glad to see y'all remove one. I've ate my share of them and have never gotten ill. I imagine a few unlucky souls have had a tainted one or two of the Wolf Fish. i like how you identified the different fish, so many times they are shown, and us YT viewers have no idea what we are looking at. Thanks for the wonderful visit to Paradise, Love Y'all.

In the Pacific Northwest of America that pilkin is commonly referred to as jigging. It is a good way to fish as the lure acts like a wounded fish and the other fish think it will be a good dinner.

Jigging is best done when you are drifting, not anchored. You cover more ground when you drift. You should have cut the squid in strips and put it on Zaya's lure. The lure plus the scent of the squid is a great combination.

JOHN SHOUREAS From my experience in northerly waters both ways work, depending on wind, waves, tide and currents. Often gets nice catches drifting away from a steep. In the Bahamas though, rocks on bottom are as sharp as lava cliffs. A monofilament lead or a steel wire (about a rod length) is the key. The cuda’s are insane…

I saw your dingy at a boat show and really liked the idea. Any drawbacks? Spray over bow?
@SailingLuckyfish5 жыл бұрын
no drawbacks, it does what it sets out to do. we had a couple offer to buy ours in Georgetown, they had one but sold it when they changed cats. Now they had a standard 3m rubber ducky. they were fed up with the spray it sent up and missed the dryness of the Takacat so I guess that goes to the heart of your question.

Hello Stewart, Zara and Mick. Loved this episode and although I’m certainly no expert on fishes of the Caribbean and America’s, I believe the Cerro is also known as a ‘Bonefish’ Hopefully one of your American subscribers from Florida will be able to confirm or deny this for us, as they are a very highly sought after sport fish and are usually found on shallow sand flats and estuaries (A completely opposite habitat to where you guys caught yours!) Keep up the great work and here’s hoping Zaya becomes more and more at home in the water!

The Cerro is a type of Mackerel, it's definitely not a Bonefish, but I can see the similarity.
