Shark Fishing with NFL Linebacker Sam Barrington - 4K

In this episode of BlacktipH, Josh is joined by Sam Barrington, an NFL Linebacker from the Green Bay Packers to go fishing for sharks off the coast of Florida. Until this day, Sam had never seen a shark before. After several hours of chumming, Sam hooked up to his first shark ever and it was a monster! Sam fought the beast for nearly 30 minutes! It was a huge bull shark (estimated the weight to be around 350lbs). We snapped a few photos and quickly release the tired shark. Sam was thrilled to watch the biggest fish of his life swim away after a healthy release.

Dual reel, meaning it has two different settings for retrieval. Reeling backwards is low gear, lower line per crank but it has more torque which allows you to reel in under more pressure. Reeling forwards is high gear, higher line per crank but less torque which makes it harder to reel under immense pressure, much like the pressure a 300+ lb shark can deliver

In most shark stomachs the acid in side is toxic enough to dissolve the hooks as the shark will swallow the hook (it causes no harm to the insides of the shark)

you should come fish the puget sound. its located in washington state and they have the worlds largest octopuses and skates which are like jumbo sting rays and rarely a basking shark. the most common shark over is a mud shark which can get up to 5 pounds
