@@michelleross9782 depends what you're trying to commentate on. People for instance doing commentary on other KZbin content or TikTok content can be used as long as it's classed as transformative. However, it can be difficult (as Kris finds out all the time bless him) when reacting to films from big companies like Warner Brothers, Disney etc. BUT: My opinion is still as I said in my other comment is, you should be able to add commentary to films and the like if what you do is transformative. Haiqi (the Megalodon they captured) is basically the film's version of the shark from the books named Angel, who is the daughter of the female Meg in the first book (and probably the female Meg from the film version too). So the sequels are more than likely going to feature her a lot, but I hope that they give her at least 50% of the screentime if they do that. In the books, the sharks aren't just monsters or wild animals. Author Steve Alten makes them into CHARACTERS. Angel, and in later books, her offspring, become characters that are just as important as the human characters, and I hope the future films in this series take that fact to heart.
@AmethystSilverDragon4 сағат бұрын
I’m reading the fourth book called Hell’s Aquarium and it features three daughters of Angel apparently two of the sisters are devils spawn but the third sister is the runt and isn’t as problematic as the other two. Don’t know why it’s just daughters? I do know in shark species that females are bigger than males? But I don’t know shark pregnancy information on maybe there’s something there that specifically gives males and without it the mothers produce females?
@kevinnorwood87824 сағат бұрын
@@AmethystSilverDragon Angel has both sons and daughters. Her son tries to kill her in the third book (spoiler alert) but gets killed himself instead. And Angel (another spoiler alert) is going to have at least four daughters, with the real stars of the show being the sisters Bella and Lizzie. And you'll notice the Megs are slowly changing their behavior over the course of the books, especially when it comes to raising their young. Angel and her mother from Book 1 display very typical shark behavior towards their offspring, but Bella and Lizzie will NOT. Bella and Lizzie are very much a tag-team, they are constantly cooperating and working together, and when they have offspring of their own, they are FIERCELY protective of their children, which is NOT typical shark behavior at all.

Hey Kristian! Great review as always. I'd like to suggest two outrageously fun movies for a future review. Sand Sharks (2011): Dive into this over-the-top horror comedy where a unique breed of sharks can swim through sand, unleashing terror on a beachside community. Jimmy Green, the mayor's prodigal son, returns to the island intent on throwing a massive party, unaware of the recent deadly shark attacks. With local authorities and a shark expert joining forces, the townspeople must halt these predators before they turn Jimmy's big bash into an all-out bloodbath. Expect ludicrous scenarios and a shark-infested beach party like no other. Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast (2012): Set in a quaint New York town, this creature feature unfurls the chaos following an earthquake that releases a prehistoric snow shark from its icy tomb. As the body count climbs, a mix of town officials, scientists, and hunters converge to confront and eliminate the beast. Merging horror, science fiction, and suspense, the movie explores the terror of an improbable predator lurking beneath the snow. Brace yourself for a chilly reception from nature's frozen terror. I think these would make for some entertaining reviews!

If either Meg movie had actually followed the books instead of having to deal with rewrites from Chinese backers, they may have been semi accurate (other than the whole prehistoric species surviving at the bottom of the Marianas trench). Steve Alten's novels were actually believable (again, aside from the prehistoric species surviving, until you get to the semi-plausible one, Vostok, about the hidden ocean locked away under Antarctica), and again, I say semi plausible, in that maybe some of the species mentioned could have potentially survived an apocalyptic cataclysm like the end of the cretaceous period in an isolated and protected environment, but after 63 million plus years(since I'm pretty sure dunks lived long before then) there would have been enough mutations and evolution to make all the species found there unrecognizable. But I can't hate, love the books and the alternate history aspects

In the second book, which this film is based on (spoiler alert), the enemy sea monster(s) for the Megalodons to fight turn out to be Kronosaurus, and they're just the start. Book 3 and onward include a PLETHORA of other prehistoric marine life forms to challenge the Megalodons for control of the oceans, but it isn't until Book FIVE that we finally get Megalodon's ACTUAL biggest rival making its debut: the prehistoric sperm whale Livyatan.
