Big thanks to Netflix for trying their utmost to destroy this movie commentary. Not to bore you all, but I’ve spent the last 2 weeks fighting with the pesky fat cats at Netflix, who have repeatedly and manually tried to completely block this video from being watched: worldwide - not even just demonetisation! What you are watching is the 8th version of the original video I wanted you all to see. I’m not quite sure why they’ve decided to do it, considering there are a few other movie commentaries of ‘Under Paris’ up on KZbin, of which have used considerably more of the movie footage than I did. As to why they were manually blocking it, instead of using the automated system, I do wonder if they weren’t particularly happy with my scathing review of the science - but that’s speculation. TL;DR - sorry my silly face is blocking out most of the film, I still wanted you guys to be able to watch what I had made for you - Enjoy! 🦈

That's bonkers! You deserve an 'I fought Netflix and I won' badge for all your hard work, and I thank you, it was a really good video. I would assume that it was that they didn't like you debunking their 'science' as if they had done any sort of scientific research for it. If it was a documentary and they had researchers and you were debating their research, okay, fight for that, but come on! It's like an astronaut debunking 'Space Balls.' The sharks look more like white sharks than mako sharks, the movie saying that sharks have nests, and the flaps on the nostrils having to do with a sharks adaptability to fresh water. I was like "those sharks look more like white sharks than mako sharks". "We've invaded her nest"! I was like "Sharks don't have nests". "These ridges show they've adapted to fresh water." I was like "The nostrils have nothing to do with a sharks adaptability to fresh water." I was even thinking the mayor of Paris should have been wearing an anchor jacket. Also, I read in one of my shark books that sharks are particularly sensitive to sound frequencies below 375 HZ.

I think what's nearly as absurd as the shark monster nonsense is the apocalyptic amount of damage caused by just the remaining unexploded WW2 ordinance. Like, within the world of this film, the Germans either must have had a horrendously bad fail rate on their bombs so that they ended up having to use a lot more, or they must have had absurdly powerful bombs so that even a small leftover number of them would cause this much destruction, which would presumably mean that Paris was just a giant smoldering crater by the end of the war that just ended up getting built over.
@SmartCatDad6 ай бұрын
It is ever so slightly better in French with english subtitles. Instead of claiming that something on the shark's nose allows her to survive in freshwater, they say that some "bumps" on the shark's nose show adaptation to freshwater. I interpret that as the Ampullae of Lorenzini have changed to compensate for the lower conductivity in freshwater.

Of all the species to use, MAKOS 😂. If this had been about bull sharks colonizing the Seine due to warming ocean temperatures, I could have gotten behind it more. But they're apparently not "scary enough." These days nearly all killer shark films involve large great whites or their lookalikes, and with the Meg movies they just keep escalating in size. Anyway, fun review! Your wit in reviewing these and hilariously (and rightfully) taking the mickey out of them reminds me a lot of Mark of @FanboyFlicks and his style.
