I disagree about the packaging. I think the new one is much nicer and more eye catching. The bright colors and palm trees also show the middle eastern vibe she's trying to push. The minimalist original packaging blends in with all the other health foods and as a consumer I'd probably end up ignoring it. It's boring.

EXACTLY!!!! Too many entrepreneurs BLOW it because they don’t understand the magnitude of what this means. When sharks demand a high percentage it’s because they already know the market and the work required to make the business successful which means they have to be more involved in the process thus cutting into their precious time away from their other businesses. The way entrepreneurs can counter with a better deal is for them to propose a target where if reached they can buy back some equity which most sharks oblige bkuz they just wanna see their investment return quicker! Only a few entrepreneurs have done this counter-offer which should always be done as a last resort before you give up alot of equity😳it always amazes me when some people show up in the tank unprepared to negotiate effectively🤦‍♀️

I liked the new packaging too. The Magic Dates name actually got me to click on the video cuz I thought it was a dating app. But it depends. Are you marketing it as a healthy item or a sweet treat? Cuz the healthy item stuff is usually white, but I guess it could help you stand out a bit. Good for Kevin for taking a shot on a small company that needs a lot of work. Very fair offer, and a good chance to blow it up and see what happens. If it fails, she has a great career as a backup.

When you have money like Mark it's easier to detach and pull the chord on a company then to see it through. 150K is a drop in the bucket to everybody sitting up there, but people don't realize that Barbara giving you 300K and Mark giving you 300K won't be the same relationship because of his net worth. I'm not saying he's a bad partner, but he's not going to be as invested/motivated to make sure that company succeeds.

Gotta love the Syrian representation ❤️ I love dates and they’re so nutritious. I would definitely try this product, and I believe I like the newer packaging more simply because minimalism packaging never catches my eye; it’s everywhere. Also, going DTC and figuring out the e-commerce space can help push digital advertising and expose more consumers to date fruit.

No she doesnt. She doesnt deserve anything more than “No” or an offer. Saying “dates arent my thing” is a no risk way of not giving the entrepreneur an ability to argue the reason (sales; margin etc)

Nah the new packaging looks much more premium and "authentic", aka middle eastern. The other one looks cheap and like some computer accessory. That being said, her whole "image" is on point, from the packaging, to the set design, the dress, the Arabic greeting etc. Presentation was 10/10
