To me this movie was basically - Lava-Girl: She is... A "Hot Mess" !!! Shark-Boy: He is... A "Sharktacular" character !!! Max: He is... "Living a Dream" !!! Mr. Electric: He is... Such a "Shocking" character !!! Whole movie: This was a mind boggle for me as a kid, maybe even more than Dr. Strange.

Rodriguez said his son's name is Max and he was 8 years old when he came up with the idea for the movie. His son created the land of milk and cookies and all of that. He created sharkboy and lavagirl to escape bullies at his school and his parents arguing all the time. His son helped make this movie abd he was the on who chose Taylor Lautner to play Sharkboy cause he liked his martial arts back flips and shit. Love your reactions btw lmao i'm 25 and i havent seen this movie since i was a kid. It was fun to rewatch.

I love this movie. I watched it so much as a kid so I was excited when they announced the sequel. But I found out Taylor Lautner wasn’t invited back for it so now I refuse to watch the sequel. And he said a couple years ago that if they ever made a sequel he’d love to be in it or make an appearance yet they still didn’t invite him back.

this was my favorite movie when i was a kid! Like when I was 5-6 I had it on DVD and watched it literally every day, I honestly love watching movies/tv shows that I watched when I was a kid, and realizing how much of an impact it had on me as I grew older. to this day the robot telling max to "dream a better dream" is so permanently engraved in my mind. i love that quote, maybe ill get it tattooed lol. thanks for the nostalgia trip!

Okay so I still love this movie it's my childhood.. But holy shit lmao I'm starting to realize why I'm such a messed up person now haha looking back on it now I can't believe none of those scenes scared me, I just thought they were all amusing! From the floating eyes and mouth of the robot to lava girl rolling around as just a head on lava, this movie is a little messed up but they somehow make those horrifying moments seem hilarious because of the indescribable amount of puns and jokes.

I’m okay with the cringey cgi because it’s based on a child’s dreams. Linus was in Dreamland because he took the dream journal to “revise it”. Must’ve added himself in. Marissa/Ice Princess is Alison DiLaurentis from Pretty Little Liars. A second movie was released a while back. Haven’t watched yet. I think they recasted Sharkboy. 🥺

Yes, this all ridiculous. But I always thought the struggle that Max was going through when it came to dealing with his parents arguing and being bullied in school was just so relatable. Especially when he used imagination to escape reality.

I think its better for parents to tell their children who are 10+ what a divorce is, and not to hide it from them. Keeping them confused, and living a false reality 😊 for your mental health sake and your child. But only a certain amount of mature parents can tell what happened without lying.

in my opinion, it wasn't the best movie. it got a 3.6 on imdb, 19% critic score on rt, and 33% audience score. the script wasn't the best, and there was so many other things not right about it, i thought it was the worst superhero movie i've seen, but the costumes from a child's POV were somewhat cool you would think
