Now just doing a basic cleaning of the Potscrubber's interior, and showing some parts that I remove in the cleaning process. Still a nice and simple appliance all around!

@@bluelagoon8142 That’s what the manual is for! You can also learn by doing things hands on as well. Just make sure to record what you’re doing so in case you forget order you did things in. Also, make sure to organize the parts and screws/bolts. Assume all screws/bolts are different sizes so put them back exactly where they started at when reassembling. Then you get good at it and post it on KZbin with commentary or written description for others that share the issue/maintenance/building task.

My old Ge dishwasher looks exactly like that one, the piece you pulled off in the back should have 4 1/4 inch screws in it, mine did. my screens in the back were clean as was the piece you pulled out behind the rotating sprayer. I'll clean everything reachable with a toothbrush and run a cycle of vinegar through it. I don't know how old this dishwasher is but I've been a maintenance man most of my life and I've found just a little bit of maintenance once or twice a year can help appliances last for years and years. If you have one of these dishwashers look in the left and right front corners, there should be a black rubber seal on each side. I believe these seal the front door when closing. I found that mine had disappeared over the years, then I developed a leak, I bought replacement seals and now I'm good to go for another 5 to 10 years.

I’m really surprised at how clean it is, especially being almost 30 years old. Looks like that “self cleaning filter” does a pretty good job of cleaning itself. I was expecting it to be much nastier, from food and other crumbs that build up over time, but it turned out pretty good. Is this washer similar to the one in the LI house that was replaced with the Triton XL? I love it either way, but it’d just be even better if it was exactly the same. Looking forward seeing the rest!
