I have huge respect towards Mike Grier, I can't even imagine the hurdles he's had to overcome in his career, Mike more than deserves all the succes he's had. The SJS has a special place in my heart and I'm confident Mike is the right man for the job. Mike, you're the man! ✌️

@@Dirtytanker He might have been an enforcer, but a great player than had two 20 goal seasons and scored 383 points in his career. Great player and teammate. Wish him well in this new role!

No more 8 year contracts to injured old players would be a start

He's not yet answer. Quin is his buddy, worst coach in the league. SJ is committed to losing for the next decades.

@@Dirtytanker haha , so far the sharks are worse this year . Quin might be the worst coach...........

I am THRILLED to have Grier as our GM. This dude is a rockstar. Was an excellent high IQ player who really knows the game. I hope for his success and great things from the Sharks. I literally didn't watch the last 2 seasons because I hated the DeBoer firing and couldn't stand Booger. Very excited to tune in again.

Grier has his work cut out. The Sharks have a bad cap situation and some unfortunate contracts they're saddled with.
@zacharyyamashita85542 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, but I have faith in him.
@dpendsonwhat24412 жыл бұрын
I honestly don’t think the contracts are as bad as they seem. And the ones signed before Covid Flat Cap wouldn’t look bad at a $90m+ Cap. They definitely need to play better and I think a new coach (Babcock? I have an odd feeling), an infusion of youth (Eklund), and continued improvement from Balcers, Barabonov, Dahlen will have them doing so. This season will be a ‘prove it’ season for the whole team. They’ll get a lot of rest before October, if they heal and are healthy, I wouldn’t doubt a fight atop the Pacific.

Sharks blew it. Went for the PC hire when there were much more qualified gm's available. I hope it works out but I won't hold my breath

Some of the best hires have been new blood in recent years, whether it's GMs or coaching. Experience is valuable but the NHL recycles old options too much
@TheAngryCanadian11092 жыл бұрын
@@happytrails151 honestly with GMs grier is the best option tbh i wouldnt hire benning or Chiarelli
@JP-dm6gi2 жыл бұрын
So what you're saying is that YOU know better what they are looking for than the SJS organization. I just wonder how come they haven't already hired you, because you know the best. 🤷♂️
@JP-dm6gi2 жыл бұрын
Oh damn, now I get it. It's of course because you're white, and the SJS discriminates against white people as you already suggested. What a shame...

Franchise killing move. Being "woke" doesn't work in sports. Picked the worst candidate possible.
