When a shark starts nickel and diming you like that, it's probably best to step out anyways. "If you're comfortable at 25%, I have a feeling you'll be comfortable at 28%" is probably not the way you want to start a business relationship. Good for them.
@cuthwulf4 ай бұрын
Normally I would 100% agree. But if you're talking to someone who is going to turn your business up like a shark, you take what you can get. These are the types that will look back in a year and say "Why did we pass up millions of dollars in free promotion and support for 3%?"
@Vic_Chaos_Ай бұрын
@@cuthwulf what are you talking about? They asked for 100k for 10%. They were reluctant going up to 20% before saying the highest they could go for 150k would be 25%. It wasn't for just 3%, it was for 18%. Besides, They had already been successful up to that point. They didn't need to bring in Robert for 28% by any stretch of the imagination, much less 33.3%
@SWillis02310 күн бұрын
@@cuthwulfjust because they get a shark doesn’t mean the company will be huge. Plenty of companies that go in shark tank go out of business even when they get a deal. That being said you certainly don’t “take what you can get” unless you’re desperate for a deal

We always go after Mr. Wonderful but Robert ALWAYS give the worst offers except when other sharks are so passionate about it especially Mark, then Robert competes from a position of the least likely to be picked. He then has to offer decent deals. After the cameras stop rolling, he often pulls out of the deals. Or want even more

The surf industry was $ 3 billion+ in the the early 2000s. Now the combined total is less then 1billion . I wear neoprene under my board shorts in river water breaks here in Hawaii and during winter swells. There's really no way to scale this product to a scale that would compete with a major brand like Rip Curl who has guys like Mick Fanning pushing a similar product thats his signature board short with a compression liner that is science backed and tested by a multiple world champion. These guys are gonna have a tough time getting any business from real surfers.

They tried to use sales tactics against two guys in sales. They didn't fall for them. However, I also think this wasn't the best business for sharks anyhow, it's too niche. They'd be better off on Kickstarter or micro lending of some kind. They likely got great advertising by being on the show though.
