Build every machine ASAP after unlocking them. Recycler, Furnace, Kiln, and more are all incredibly useful, they are vital for processing a variety of resources that are very important.

I think prioritizing the Pickaxe, Scythe and (maybe) fishing pole upgrades is a good starting strategy. It'll save lots of stamina when mining and diving to have bronze tools as early as possible. I just focused on diving, mining and fishing for credits and leveling up museum for most of my first spring, donating everything I could to the museum before selling the rest - which will quickly unlock the sprinkler reward from the Museum. I didn't want to waste stam manually watering more than 4 to 8 crops per day, using most of my stam diving and a bit of mining ..so by the time I leveled up farming enough to unlock the sprinkler craft recipe, I had plenty of silver kelp to make several more sprinklers. (I think I have 8 or 9 now, still in my first spring) .. I'm not even bothering manual watering or upgrading the water pail for now.

My favorite tip ever...only because it is fun is fence jumping. Once you place fences on your farm you can hop right over them. Don't even bother with opening and closing gates, just jump right over the fence. ;)

The furniture store has a large chest that is only around 300 gold I believe! And Ben's van has a scarecrow that covers a very LARGE area!

I love the tip about using the shipping bin as a chest on Day 1! Another tip: When you receive the 8 sugarcane seeds, be sure to plant them with fertilizer since they regrow. They can help as a lower-quality (but abundant) energy source and count toward a future quest.

There are coconut trees all around the island. As weeks go by, you will notice coconuts growing. It might be around the 15th or so, that you can shake the trees and harvest them. This is similar to salmonberry/blackberry season in Stardew. As far as I know, you can harvest the coconuts in Spring and Summer. It's great for extra income.

Sharky I'm currently playing this too, one tip is if you take your gardenhoe with you around and hit the weeds you'll get random items too and sometimes bugs if you till some of the ground around it

If you use your hoe on the beach's sand you can dig up seaweed, trash, and chests and coffers on occasion.

Sharks are a bit hard to catch, but sell for around 800 gold. I spent most of my summer days building up my gold this way; they seem to be only available in summer. From the water in front of the tavern.

You can get hammerhead on winter as well. Catch it at 17.00 untill late at night. This time of the day the shark is a bit easy to catch. If you catch during the day, the fishing line will always break. The best spot is near lighthouse, beside a mystery store on boat.

You mentioned in a couple videos that you haven't seen the slowing game speed feature. That means you never dug into My Time At Portia. I would really love to see you get into that like you have for this game. I haven't played the newer Sandrock yet

If you have enough cash and it's not the weekend, there's a scarecrow available in the furniture shop in town. It's not quite as good as the ones from Ben's shop but it does in a pinch.

One thing about coconut drinks irl, they can have a laxative effect if you drink too much. Maybe the NPC’s get sick from them too after awhile. 😅

You can also hoe some weeds around the map, these at the beach will give you glass sandstone and silver kelp among other things

Here's a simple tip, don't invest much of your efforts into fishing or bug catching. Sure, catch the easy bugs when you come across them and save em for bug jerky. But there's just not much money to be made from either of these. Leveling up these skills doesn't seem to have much impact either other than perhaps spending a point on the 10% more value perk. As well, upgrading the net and rod is a money sink. There's not a lot of benefit to reap from doing so. Just wait until you're at a point of making a steady 10 or 20k per day and only buy the best purple level net and rod. Skip the inbetween models. And don't even buy the best ones if you still need money to upgrade your bag, tools and product quality stuff. You'll still make money just by selling off all the crap you pick up from foraging and some small crop stuff. You're just not going to start making money until you get farm animals or getting kegs and mason jars going to pump out a regular income.

Solid Consistent Money comes from 3 things in this game.... 1. Animal Products 2. Rice/Wheat in Kegs 3. Bee Houses and for a bonus 4th due to the lack of effort, good consistency and value would be, ... 4. Fishpond/Insect house (Tuna/Maple Leaf Cutter moths) are pretty good money. Just leave 4 of them to breed. Every other day you'll be able to sell off the other 6. That's like 5k every other day for 2 seconds of effort. And you could build several of these if you wanted to scale it.

Honestly, the best tip I can think of for both this game and stardew is to not really do much farming lol. All energy and time should be invested towards upgrading early game. This is why I'm going to argue against the tip of wild seeds in this video. The fact that you don't know what you're going to get is the problem. First year/Season only the cheap and fast stuff like 4 day parsnips. And never plant more than 15 of them. 9 would be best. It's a waste of energy and time. Yes, you need money but now is not the time to try and go ham on a cash crop. The only reason to plant anything is to raise your farming level for crafting abilities. The better scarecrow, better chests, and sprinkler to be more specific. All other efforts should be invested towards upgrading your house to get a kitchen and buying a grill to make bug jerky for energy and upgrading your crop quality and tools. My 2nd best tip is to be a backwards farmer. Meaning, don't go the traditional way of farming when you first get up or even at all during the day time hours. Once 8:30am hits, leave your farm and do what ya gotta do to progress. But be sure to get your ass back to your farm by 5 or 6pm. That's when you do your farm chores. Get in bed by 11 for full rest. That's about 5 game hours towards tending your farm. If you don't get to something, you just don't get to it. You should never spend more than 5 game hours tending to your farm unless if you're at the end game stages with a full fledged artisan machine pumping, money making grind going on. Remember, you can't fuck these games up. lol For all the tips out there you can do NO wrong. At worst, you can get yourself caught up in the work trap where you fall into a minimal routine cycle of non progress. Like, chopping down trees to get seeds for candy to gain more energy so you can just chop more trees down lol. Where did the day go???!!! you wonder. And my last and final tip, would be to know yourself. If you're the type of person who gets anxiety or has OCD and you have to make the most out of your game day or get overwhelmed when you've completed one task only to get 3 more, then you don't know how to enjoy this type of game. Don't play it. You need to learn to be ok with "incomplete". Procrastination. Not getting everything done in one season of your first year. It's an infinite game! Relax. If you're low on energy, don't scrounge for seeds to make candy. Just go to bed! Waste the day. Who cares. Plant 9 parsnip seeds and sleep 4 days straight. Instant money for real life time spent playing the game. You didn't actually lose 4 real life days! lmao. Relax. Stop to smell the roses. Enjoy the game play. Enjoy chopping that tree down. The more you ease up on yourself with your game play the more fun you'll start to have playing these Farm simulators.

Just started my first playthrough a few days ago; my character bugged out and got stuck on the day of the tree planting festival, but I made the huge mistake of using the "I'm stuck" menu feature. It fast forwarded me a day, making me miss the festival -- plus took away half of my stamina for that day. (Plus I lost a full bar of stam from the previous unused day) .. So if you're new: DON'T use that lame feature. Just quit and reload the game.

Stardew valley is basically a Harvest Moon. That's how all of them work. It just getting better or worst :) The difference w/ Coral Island is that you can dive & clear trashes, befriend w/ merfolk. Diving goals is go clear oil spills & get your town to rank up.

Almost all the NPCs like flowers except for Charles and Yuri! Though Scott hates tulips lol. Also I don't think every single NPC goes to each festival, but it is most of them. The kids don't go to the New Years one. One BIG tip that I've learned (and is kind of specific) is, as soon as you level your town rank up to C, you unlock the crops needed for the winter bundle--watermelon, garlic, fairy rose--and they actually don't grow in winter, they grow in fall. So if it's not winter yet and you get your town rank high enough, go buy those seeds asap! Otherwise you'll have to wait until fall of the following year to complete that bundle.

This happened to me. I got the town rank to C, but it was already Fall 20. So not enough time to grow anything. Have to wait for year 2. Bought the seeds though for when that time comes.

At the start of the game I found that energy was a huge constraint on what I could do. The answer I found out was to buy sugar from Sam. It's relatively cheap and gives a good boost. It made the whole early game so much easier.

Hot tip: The twins love flowers (except Alice hates Violets), so any flowers you scavenger can be used as gifts to them for an easy (and cheap) boost. Also, Suki's daughter Valentina loves sweets, including the candied seeds.

You can change Game Speed in My Time in Portia and My Time in Sandrock. Setting the game speed in those games has existed for a long time and it's a well loved feature from the My Time series. Multiple games have been requested to feature it from Kickstarter backers like me, since we played the My Time series along with many other games, and reccomending various games best features is important to us.

You unlock crafting recipes for larger chests and a scarecrow with a larger radius (15x15) as you level up your skills. Chests are level 5 mining, farming and diving(?). Scarecrow can also sometimes be found in Ben's shop (caravan near mines, open on weekends) from the beginning.

You can get free Batik hanging (a method (originally used in Java) of producing coloured designs on textiles by dyeing them, having first applied wax to the parts to be left undyed) beside billboard near diving area where Theo used to fish there. There's a small storage box, just click on it & you'll get 2 batik hanging & 1 wall decor painting for free. It'll be renew idk when but you can still click on it later when it's refill. (Sorry for my English)
