I don't watch sports, but if they televised people playing the machines at Japanese game centers like this I'd be glued to the tv. Not any of the ones in the US though. The ones in Japan seem much better, they definitely seem to have cooler prizes.

They can adjust the dial to make it easy or harder. The vendors that sell and repair these machines sometimes make them too hard on purpose because it yields more money. The guy working was a really nice guy and saw that yeah that thing was bunk lol

Ah yeah, the thing about machines in Japan is they do have a counter when they'll have a "win/payout" grab (aka the hold is strong and will almost guarantee a win)with a bit of research you can find out what places have a good payout rate. I assume Sharla and ryotaro reached it with how much they spent lol

_In my experience alot of these places in Japan are quite nice and if you're putting a crazy amount into the machines and having no luck they'll help you, I feel like western places would have just left the charizard and the slowpoke there_

Omg I love Dagashi. When I was a kid, I took my $1 (¥100)and bought all kinds of candy and snacks. I used to love mochi thingy, I didn’t know there are so many flavors now. Back then there were only cider and cherry. It was fun video, thanks for sharing.

at the risk of sounding very whiny, I just wanted to tell you that I've been having a pretty hard time recently and your videos always cheer me up and comfort me 💓 thanks for everything, Sharla!! I actually had a month long Japan trip planned for 2020 (which obviously didn't happen TT) and when I get the chance to actually visit, I will definitely check out that candy store (though it might take me ages to read all the labels to figure out what's vegan lol)

My partner and I would spend the evenings in shopping malls playing games to wind down after a day running around. She's a champion at the stacking crane games. And the candy I see in the Florida area- the generic "cheaper" ones are just off brand versions of better stuff So it usually is only worth it to get recognizable stuff too . This store seems like each individual candy could and probably does taste good
