@@FelixIsMyName I would love to assume that either Chris had visited plenty of times and they've met and spent time together already. I looked this up on Wikipedia and apparently it was consumed by British aristocracy for toasts until the early 1800s and then made its way across to the US and it became a seasonal drink. So Sharla is probably calling it British because of that but as a Brit myself I can also confirm we don’t have it here and until finding that out I’d always assumed it was an American thing

@@WolfietheheroProductions My Scottish father was ahead of the game. No one would ever guess their gift from the wrap... Early 80s (before bags & tissue paper were trending) he would wrap in the most unusual ways. Our church secretary was his Secret Santa person. He wrapped it to look like the engine of a train (complete with cotton puff steam from the stack). It was Marks & Spencer bath stuff in a matching set. Not only a unique wrap but most Canadians born here wouldn't know to shop there. LOL

This feels a bit weird to say, but you have no idea how nice this was to see. You all seem so happy! Holidays with my family were nice enough when I was a kid, but it was rare for us to really laugh and smile too much and it usually ends up feeling more mundane than happy. My dad's been in hospice for a while now and his health has been ailing since well before covid, so the holidays have felt especially downcast the past few years. It's just really nice to see people being outwardly happy even if Chris is a bit curmudgeonly in his affability.

Visiting BOTH sets of parents over the Christmas period is one of the most stressful things a young couple can do, apart from a big family wedding. Been there, done that, many decades ago. We only ever did it once. I sincerely hope that you come out the other side together. Best wishes. PS. Loved the video of Chris attempting to cook. You should do more of them. He could maybe guest Chef at Risottoro's restaurant?

I appreciate that Sharla opens her wrapping very carefully. I do that too, and it kills my family with anticipation haha. Also I love the stacking Maneki Neko gifted to Sharla's family! I'd buy that in a heartbeat

Thanks for sharing your family Christmas with us 😄I wasn't expecting to see someplace I'd been! We had a family cruise a few years ago with my mom and Victoria was one of the stops - my brother, spouse, and I walked through the Garden district to walk around downtown, it's such a neat place!

I never comment on things, but I've been watching your videos for I think about 6 years now and I've been enjoying these vlogs. They're so cozy and you and Chris look so relaxed and happy! Hope you guys are enjoying your time, even though it's a lot of flights!!! 😊🎄 Hi from Northern Nevada, US!! Edit: I also share in Chris's sentiment of eggnog; almost 30 and still can't handle it!
