Wow your hair has grown so much! It looks so healthy. Advice: you’ll adjust to what your hair needs but a universal rule is the longer it gets the more friction you’ll endure wearing down. Just a hazard of having hair touching your clothes. A blessing and a curse. But enjoy the different stages. ETA: make sure you don’t hold the blow dryer in one place too long. You don’t want to burn your hair/ weaken your strands. Ooh! Also, get a pack of perm rods. If you roll your ends instead of braiding/twisting to the ends your ends will not fray or split as easily. And it gives it a more polished look.

Good tips but I believe that she was blow-drying her hair with cool air and using the tension method. No heat protectant needed because no heat was being used.
@stephpowell76482 жыл бұрын
Joyel, you just have to hold the brush there. Don't pull out at the end (ha!) Just pull the brush to the end of hair and hold the tension there for as long as it takes to dry.

Yes. The end result is pretty. That's a very nice protective style. What I like about you is that you take the time to style your hair instead of installing a darn wig. Keep rocking that beautiful natural hair.
@seandaniel20672 жыл бұрын
let’s not shame one practice of the natural hair community to uplift another. nobody has an obligation to wear their own hair out all the time and wearing a wig is a perfectly suitable protective style.

Very pretty!!!! If you want to do this again, but don't want the arm workout, try using a blow drying brush with a cool setting. For an example Revlon's One-Step Hair Dryer & Styler. There's other brands out there if you don't like Revlon 😁. I just bought one, now I have a hair style to try. Thanks for this video!!!!

I really want to start doing braid-outs again but I'm not confident in my ability to braid my hair. It's been very nice to see your recent videos on doing braidouts because I'm trying to find a good braiding technique

Have you tried using a concentrator attachment? I think you'd get the same results in about 20 to 30 minutes if time was ever a factor and having low heat/low fan on if that is an option on your handheld dryer. My whole wash day surprisingly only took 70 minutes with the tension method vs. when it's usually 3 to 4 hours if I really take my time to detangle with a brush.

If you ever get to the point where you just can’t take the upkeep and styling anymore I highly encourage locs! Micro or small locs have been the best decision for my 4C hair. It’s almost like this style is what it’s been wanting since the beginning. I love watching your videos still even though I’ve been locked for a lot of it. 💕
