In businesses people are always looking down or at their phones when you talk to them 😑 I always put away my phone, when I interact with random humans, even if I'm in a line to buy a gallon of milk.

Sometimes it is true that the world is stacked against you, whether you're ill, marginalised, disabled, prohibitively poor... I think you can work like a leader and reconcile these things. I think to say "don't be a victim" is to push away some key truths and injustices about the world. The best people work hard to change that but we're all human and sometimes it can be too much. That's human nature, not victimhood. It's possible I'm just putting words in your mouth though. I really like your point "there is dignity in all labour". Treating everything as a craft, and taking enjoyment in everything - I think that's a really nice attitude :)
