I like the way the handle keeps it from bending. Some KZbinrs actually bend the scraper as they push it to make it cut better, but that can make the board concave. I will try it!

I made this a few days ago and it;s already working a treat for things that would have been awkward otherwise - I don't know if you did this but I made a small recess for the blade to sit in, 1/2 the bald thickness depth so it was really held firmly and stopped at one end so it cant really slide, though TBH it's really held tight.

This is awesome, but for the life of me I cannot get a shaving as nice as yours are. Granted, I use a 1000/6000 combination of stone, but that should not be that much difference, maybe I'm applying a wrong angle when sharpening, do you have any idea what might be the cause?

@ChiefTiff
@ChiefTiff 10 ай бұрын
Did you miss the point that the sharpening method applies a tiny burr on one side? If you just put in a new blade each time you're not getting that burr and the blade just works as a reverse-rake cutter and may not produce as fine a finish. In any case though I suspect replacing the blade may take longer than the 4-6 touch-up strokes per stone as shown in the video.
