If that was the east link toll, just outside Dublin port, there is a lane on the left that is free for motorcycles. Next time

Hi, just to let you know that toll you paid €2.20 in Dublin is FREE for motorcyclists. Stay in the left lane and keep left of the barrier. I think there is a notice but always free at that toll and M50 toll also free to bikes. Enjoy your trip in Ireland.

When we got back from Ireland on the 2nd tour, the first thing I did was sell my low chasiss xr gen 1 , I literally thought the roads were going to break my back .... I changed for a another bike, it is beautiful but my God ... hidden bumps in the road...
@thelikeablerider88006 ай бұрын
I can't imagine riding that road on the XR, it would have flung me off at the first bump!

Lovely video Shaun. The Wicklow mountains are a favourite spot for our motorcycle group (based in Dublin). There are so many different routes you can take and the scenery changes with each. Pity your video didn't capture the spectacular waterfall as you rode down into Laragh or the view back from the hill road towards Glenmalure but you were busy watching the road and sheep! To be fair, most of those roads are built on bog and soft ground so the surface is prone to bumps and hollows and it's best to just take it slow and give yourself time to take in the scenery. The R759 to Lough Tay is another stunning road. Looking forward to watching all the episodes. (Love the Triumph - had the previous version which was a great bike. Possibly better than my current 1250 GSA....???)

Watching you bounce around on the 115, it looked like they must have paved over every rock and hole with no attempt to level any of it out 😆!

Great video, you're brave pushing on a bit on that mountain road, some of them bumps and dips could castrate you😆 Great country here for bikes, takes a while to really get to know the best roads where the tourists don't go. That looked damned good Guinness, 'a pint of plain is your only man' as they say in old Dublin.

Enjoyed the video, but my old Honda wouldn't be very nice to ride on that road if I'm honest! (Althought it's probably best not to take speed bumps at 50mph 🤣 Looking at that pint of Guiness I doubt you managed to 'Stick' on just the one! Very atmospheric music, but I kind of miss The Wildflowers. 🤣

Haha Nora Batty last of the summer wine. Sometimes rain mode gives u full power but gentle throttle. Ideal. Why one would want a snatchy throttle unless your racing the nuts off is beyond me. Oh do ü use a filter on yr vids? Silvery? Think I prefer it natural once in a while. Any chance? Send me to blazes if you wish. Loving the series 🏆🏆
@thelikeablerider88006 ай бұрын
A snatchy throttle map is less than ideal with all those humps and bumps in the road. I really should utilise the custom mode, haven't really bothered to give that a look yet. Is not a filter, I colour graded it that way. Sometimes, I get board of the standard gopro look, so went for a more cinematic vibe.

Special place the Wicklows, broke down there touring in 2002 and the locals were amazing, new chain and sprockets on my Kwacker and free breakfast 85 punts, long before the Euro bumped up the cost of everything in Ireland. Certainly not a country for sports bikes🤣

depends what roads you take like anywhere, I have both, the 'adventure' bike for the mountain roads, sports bike for the fast stuff😄

Nothing worse than getting hit with a toll road off the ferry, especially when that one is actually free for bikes 😬 you'll see the sign to the left as you approach for bikes and cycles, lane to the left bypasses the barrier

It's a great addition! Only negative I have with it is the audible beep, it's pretty annoying! You can switch it off, but you have to do that everytime you start the bike. Would be great if it would save your preference so you didn't have to do that. Will be taking it off in a few days, not for that reason, but to try something new👍😜
