I shaved mine off after a year. I had straight hair dreads like Scrim from Suicide Boys with the sides cut and everything. There were so many emotions when I cut mine, happiness, sadness, but I also felt rejuvenated. It's such an amazing experience to grow dreads. I can't wait till my hair grows back so I can dread my entire head. Big ups to you man, I know it was hard 👌🏻❤

Back before I lost much of my hair, I let it get very long as well as shaving it all off. A shaved head is a lot more comfortable.

+chaucer555 Yeah it was. Not a decision I took lightly. I mulled it over for waaaaaay over a year. Dreads take a lot of effort, and also energy. The upkeep of having tidy dreads was something I was not heavily invested in. I paid people to sort it out every once in a while. I craved for the relief no longer having the slight physical pressure that the dreads inflicted on my scalp by their weight and unruliness. It's weird because over time I had got used to it always being there. The vanity aspect of shaving off a key part of my social identity was also something that took a lot of preparing for. But OMG! that first shower afterwards! that was amazing!!!!! I miss the look of dreads, but not the caveats. It was deffo a journey!

good on ya dude, Ive had mine for over 10 years now they are to my knees and i have given more thought to shaving them in the last 6 months than ever before. I scared to shave them and think " fuck i shouldn't have done that" there are so many pros and cons of having them this length and I'm so torn on the decision.
