wicked guitar playing from the 8th fret! Right hand muting, slides, hammer-on and pull-offs. She's an amazing talent.

Shawn is much better live and solo than with the production (that made her more popular and famous) but when you see just her, the raw talent is overwhelming. I followed her in the 1980s Boston folk scene; when I lived in Santa Cruz in 1995, I told my musician friends "You have to go to this show" and they thought I was crazy liking this pop singer...until they saw the show. They were all converts, she is a phenomenon live.

This is the first song of her's I ever heard. I loved it then bought the album for my sister and family (new). Her colicky son loved it. It was the only thing that soothed him. I was the favorite aunt, for awhile.

The first dozen or so times I heard this song I thought it was about being in love with a rare person. Now I realize it is about Self-discovery. First heard it on "Austin City Limits", probably 10 years ago. Anyone know to get a copy of that? Featured Lyle Lovett, Allison Krauss, others.

Never heard this tune 'til I heard a live version on wxrt here in Chicago; thought it was her, but wasn't certain, until I found this............just flawless and she is a superstar, more than the current crop of glittery dancing songstresses. I dare Rhianna, Taylor Swift, Aguilera, Lady GaGa, or their contemporaries, to write a song this good.
