I’ve even heard bret hart say one of the worst aspects of the screw job is that we lost all his matches with angle, and Jericho. We lost his matches with kane. What would have been with Austin and the rock and undertaker. But worst of all we lost all the matches he was gonna have with Shawn.

But the screw job has nothing to do with him leaving. Bret was already gone and it his decision so I don’t understand him saying if it never happened, we would have seen all those other matches.
@libfit9068
@libfit9068 10 ай бұрын
@@ishanray While the is true, Bret’s eventual match vs Goldberg happened at the end of 1999. At that time, the attitude era was already in full effect and WWF had gotten out of the shts. I truly believe if Bret left on good terms, that Vince McMahon would’ve brought Bret back into WWF and he would’ve been able to have great matches. People don’t realize that Vince and Bret were very close, almost like family which is why the screw job hurt Bret so much.

Still my favorite Mania match. It didn’t re-invent anything. It didn’t have a multitude of crazy spots either- or rather, it didn’t feel like they rehearsed specific sequences and they were intentionally wrapping up one sequence to move on to the other. It kind of just felt organic but at the same time it felt like basic wrestling at a high level.

the magic of Shawn Michaels was his endurance. It's funny listening to people recount HBK matches because they always tell it like he got a lot of moves in. Shawn Michaels' whole deal was that he'd get beat to death for 30 minutes and then come back to life with that kip up and manage to win. He was like a smiling, male-stripper version of Undertaker.
