No he didn't. He was basically a trainee at a music production company. All the clothes he's wearing are his own. He wasn't prepared at all, and just made up those dance moves on the spot.

Sadly, Rick developed a fear of flying which ended his music career. Apparently, he has conquered that fear because he is currently touring Europe and will be here in the states soon.

Yeah it happens. First time I heard why do fools fall in love, I thought it was sung by a teenaged white girl. Then thanks to youtube, I discovered Frankie lymon sang that song very talented young man back in the 50s with his group.

Hey Christy, my grandchildren, ages 5 and 7 love this song along with "Together Forever". They know all the words , love to sing along with Rick, and love the videos as well. Of course, I have introduced them to other classics like, "Dancing Queen", "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", "I Just Wanna Dance With Somebody" , You Should Be Dancing", "September", you get the idea. Might as well expose them to the best music when they are young. :)

Probably, I am around your parents age but I have also listened to music from the thirties and forties, some of it really good especially swing music from Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller. Btw, my grandchildren know the music from the movies/Broadway shows, Bye,Bye ,Birdie and 42nd street, great tap dancing. You and your kids should check out the finale to Hairspray, “You Can’t Stop the Beat”. Have fun😀

First heard this song in 1987...I pictured the singer as a middle-aged, blue-eyed soul singer...I was shocked when I saw the video for the first time...Rick looked like he was still in middle school...Sometimes the voice doesn't match the face...Either way, it's an awesome song!

Because I'm used to this because of my 80's childhood and british, hearing this at 3 to 4 , it's was a happy memory. He was a one hit wonder at that time, yet amazingly talented.But not sure how far it got or if it was released in America?! Was enjoyable but strange seeing Americans surprised reaction to it lol.

Rick comes from my hometown, he was the drummer and the band he was in called FBI used to practice in my mates tyre fitting garage. One time the singer was to ill to perform so Rick stepped in and was heard by producer Pete Waterman (of Stock, Aitken and Waterman) and signed Rick. The rest is history.
