My favorite Styx song. This 'live performance' is the single version of Come Sail Away . The album version is roughly 3 minutes longer. There is an instrumental section not present in this version. You might want to react to the album version on one of your live streams. It's fantastic!! Take care you two, RNB

These Chicago boys were one of the greatest bands back in the 70's & 80's. They were awesome. And their great album their 1981 "Paradise Theatre." Was one of the greatest albums ever made. The lead singer and keyboard player here is Dennis DeYoung. Brilliant!

Hi Shawn and Mel. You know Shawn, I have listened to that song a hundred thousand times but I never thought about the meaning of the lyrics like you did in your reaction. What a deep thought you had: "If you stay rooted in the past you can't sail away to the future where all the good things are." Wow, you don't know how much I really needed to hear that tonight. So encouraging. That is one reason why I enjoy the two of you so much, you have a mature and thoughtful take on the lyrics. I am always interested in what you have to say.

My favorite song from Styx. A song of hope... (And the album version is so much better bcuz of the psychedelic keyboard solo)... - "A gathering of angels, appeared above my head". "They sang to me this song of "hope".... - "I thought that they were angels. But to my surprise, - we climbed aboard their starship, and headed for the skies"... To me, it's like the song writer had a vision of (friendly) ETs, and possibly made subconscious contact with them. Could it had been thru acid trips, mushroom trips, or marijuana? Maybe. But I feel like there was some sort of contact made with the Guardians of our Universe. Now, I totally get this song. It's sad, but in a happy, glorious way....

I am having a really hard time believing that you never heard this song before! For one thing this song came out in 1977 . It's one of the most ironic songs of this generation . So much so, that countless times , it could be heard on commercials , t.v. shows , and movies. Not to mention , this song is a staple on every classic rock radio station in the world ! What rock were you living under for the past four decades?
