I've always been fascinated by the Shawnee tribe. I'm reading about my 15th book on Tecumseh. "Gallup toward the Sun". I've always been deeply fascinated by the figure of Tecumseh and that time period. His Oratory delivery was something to behold. Even if you couldn't understand the language. And a very good looking and charismatic man from many eyewitness accounts

My mother's father was Shawnee from the Ohio Valley area. Both of her paternal grandparents were Shawnee. When I look at his face I see the Shawnee in my mother. My grandfather married an African America woman and they had two children--my mother and my uncle. My mother often spoke of her grandparents Indian clothing and her grandmother's beadwork.

My Dad told me I was part Iroquois a couple times. I am not a member of a tribe and at first glance I just look like a white boy. I couldnt find any vids teaching that language. So Shawnee it is. Thank you for posting these priceless vids.

Similar story here. Was always told I was Choctaw until I did a DNA test and I got matched to the hokolesqua line. Talk about an existential crisis. Welcome to the tribal family brother. As soon as I can convince the big 3 Shawnee tribes to let us mutts in on the goods, I'll show you how to get the information we both need.

So, how does a non-enrolled Shawnee get access to the SLIP program? I can prove my lineage through oral tradition, family tree, and DNA testing. Hokolesqua bloodline here. I will gladly pay a fee if money is required. Its so difficult learning through text from web pages and old literature from traders and missionaries. Everyone had a different way of spelling making pronunciation rather difficult.

Thats the key! The I is A in the spelling! Its also a verb-subject-object construction as opposed to subject-verb-object in English! Holy crap I had it wrong. For example I was saying I am Shawnee when I should have been saying Shawnee I am. Like Yoda from star wars.
