The bucket is too shallow for their size, you need to turn another bucket over and zip tie the buckets together, making it hard for the rat to get out or just use the trashcan rat trap with the walk the plank style rat trap. Just a suggestion. Use a dead mouse at the end of the plank for bait using the double plank.

Doesn't surprise me at all, Rats have been known to kill and eat snakes 4~5 times their length. They've been known to kill and eat pigeons twice their size.. some Rats will dive into water hunt and kill turtles, crabs, aquatic snakes, fish other aquatic rodents/scavengers.. back on land lizards and all sorts of small mammals. Worth also noting that House Cats generally don't hunt, kill and eat Rats.. our Cat even runs away from our pet Rats then usually they end up grooming each other. Dogs will kill Rats.. and are often a better deterrent than Cats. Tho Cats are a much better deterrent to Mice.

The bars of the mouse cage were too far apart and the mice were escaping. Every now and then one of the mice would go down the bars of the rat's cage whereupon the rat would seize it through the bars and devour it. It made for fantastic theatre and I wondered what in the morning the pet shop owner would think had happened.

If KZbin has taught me anything, it's that EVERYTHING eats mice. Even mice will eat other mice. Just ask Fat & Happy.

Amazing. Had no idea a rat would eat the mice.

U don't want to domesticate them..... they're dirty

Simple. Raise them from babyhood. Pet rats are clean animals.

With that many rats, the mousetrap I'd invest in is CCI shotshells.

I think you need a claymore mine in that shed

Shawn has some black bruised finger nails from misfired traps. We don't want Shawn to lose an entire hand if the claymore misfires.

Could you put a link on here to the video of the rat getting the mouse from a different angle? I couldn't find anything other than this same video on your website.

Mice and rats can harm things. They ruin farmers crops and scare scaredy-cat ladies. Also he’s not a monster. Not hating on you.

Those are some big ole rats! Reminds me of some old "Jaws part ___" sequel, where they manage to defeat a giant shark, only to discover it was just the baby, and now Momma Jaws is pissed off!
