Nate truly loved Serena and respected her. I agree with him at no. 1. He was loyal to her, good honorable man. Yes Serena and Dan were cute but Nate didn’t release an ugly chapter on Serena. Nate even punched Dan in the face for that. Nate stood up for Serena and defended her to Tripp. They would have been endgame if it wasn’t for Dan in the picture but I feel like they are good friends. Dan was Serena’s first love he saw the best in Serena when no one else believed her. He was a very good influence to her during season one. He made her feel good plus he wasn’t apart of the upper east side of wealth, deception. It was refreshing to be with someone who lived d different normal based life. He was like her escape from the world she lived in.

nate has always been my #1, it was genuinely always serena for him and he is one of the few characters who acknowledges his many privileges and tries his best to make a life on his own through his own success. he has his faults of course, but he is always putting in the work to grow and fix them. he rotates through all of his friends seriously trying to protect and support them through the many of the issues they all have. he’s willing to call out his family and friends when they do the wrong thing and just ugh yeah i love him he’s just a guy and youre so right, no thoughts behind those eyes, probably the first himbo i experienced and i was so immediately obsessed. also your list is 100% correct, though id leave 9 and 10 empty and put ben and trip at 11 and 12 because i HATTTTTEEEE them so bad oh its so bad for them and for me and us having to experience them oh i want to beat them up so bad‼️💯

Nate truly was the best love interest for her. I truly hated how the writers did her in the later seasons. She didn't do anything plotwise but date terrible guys, and I thought it was horrible that she ended up with the person that's been making her miserable for years. But if you look at how her mom was with men, and how she ended up with Serena's horrible dad it makes sense.

When Serena is in evil mode (when she's nairtini S&B power struggle slaying) I'd say carter was a good match for her if she'd like, owned up to her shortcomings and accepted she was a bit of a bad person sometimes (Blair and Chuck pre-jennygate vibes) Nate is her best bf overall but I'm the actual canon I don't think she ever actually grew enough to be in a comfortable and happy relationship with him and his growth away from her (and his early season poor actions/cheating on Blair) probably wouldn't have happened if he wasn't able to mature from his infatuation with Serena (Unfortunately) dan is Serena's ideal man™ in the story where she doesn't really grow or admit her faults, hot take maybe? but dan is the perfect partner for her in the world where she never really stops just getting to be '''''free''''' and do whatever she wants

Bc they didn’t want her back no schools wanted her so she used the story of her being “taken advantage of” by Ben Donavan as leverage to get her back into private school. Love this. I would argue for Carter Baizen to be #1 or #2 though. Yes, he's a sketchball, but he was only ever a gentlemen to Serena. Sometimes a doormat, he let her drag him wherever until he realized she was hurting herself, then he'd put up a boundary. But most of their interactions are her using him for something and him trying to help.
