Of course the audience got quiet after being called out. It took them awhile to warm back up. Shane couldn’t have known that he would have to follow someone who jokes about abusing kids and he couldn’t not respond to that. Bombs happen and he handled it well. I really wish Netflix would give him a special!

Just ask your friends, who of them got bitten by parents, and you'll see you don't want to do this to your children. I don't know what people are aiming with hitting children, but me and all I know in person (with such childhood) grew up completely neurotic. Either aggressive or super weak and guidable, always with trust issues, and me personally is also a complete masochist. Like we had a conservation after yoga about "discipline methods" and turned out I'm the only one who experienced it - me, a person who's now afraid of social interactions (God forbid conflicts), and whose favorite part in yoga is to be stepped on (in order to help to get it proper pose of course)
