When she was working for def jam they were expensing her videos excessively with set design. Extras, wardrobe, lighting, etc.. Nova went deep into debt over this. But she was also helping a guy shoot commercials for side money and it was just the 2 of them, so she knew most of it could be consolidated.

If I remember correctly, during one of their live chats it was said that Nova is from Jamaica and that she is the one who braids Tom's hair. I think the subject got on cultural appropriation.
