I think Mariah is mistaking Gen Z.. Millenial parents are smoking with their GenZ kids.. LOL Gen Z is young and if they do have kids they most likely arent above 7yrs old. But that part about being more "best friends" makes a little sense, seeing as though Millenials/GenZ really didnt have an amicable relationship with their parents.. both groups probably want to break that. We don't want to be besties, we just want our kids to be able to trust us enough to let us know what is going on in their lives. I'd rather my kid tell me he/she/whatever is going to a party at 18, than sneak out.

I’m sorry but all of you are wrong about gen z. You should realize that knowing that’s about 90% of your audience. We won’t be the “best friend” type parents. Most won’t have kids and the rest want to break the traditional generation values. Most of us don’t want technology for our kids because we realize how it’s affected us growing up. We want to be on the stricter side but only enough for them to trust us and we trust them. We all know super strict parents create sneaky kids. Also you guys saying gen z is smoking with their kids. Why are you saying it’s the millennials that are smoking with their kids? It’s odd to group a whole generation of parents into one category just as they shouldn’t have said gen z parents are doing this or that. Are generations influenced by the world they grow up in? Yes. Will these affect how they parent? Yes but you can’t categorize a generation as being shitty parents. There’s shitty parents in every generation it doesn’t matter if they’re Baby boomers or gen z. It’s silly to make overarching statements like that.
@laurynblake38243 жыл бұрын
@@annasibert2958 okay calm down I only said millennials because that’s the next generation above gen z. Gen Z barely even have kids yet and if they do have kids they are probably babies or toddlers. I really really really love y’all but when you guys started talking about Dr. Phill around 4 minutes in about the ranch and Bhad Baby I got kinda upset but it’s obviously just cuz you guys aren’t aware... There are a lot of rehab and mental health facilities out in the middle of no where that teens are literally taken to whether they want to go there or not. These places pose as if they are meant to help and heal teens and then teens go on to have very terrible experiences. Not to say that all rehab or mental health faculties are bad, because I know people who have had great experiences and terrible experiences. I’m just surprised that you guys wouldn’t have thought about the fact that Bhad Baby was all over the news saying that her experience on the Ranch was terrible. Yikes. Idk I guess it just shows how little people know about these kinds of places if they don’t personally know people who have been. Yes there are plenty of successful people who smoke but there are plenty of unsuccessful people because of smoking. It’s not about if you make a life for yourself or not, it’s about the effects it as on your body and mental health from frequently smoking. Most people now a days can’t deal with real world scenarios or emotions cause they choose to escape reality with drugs when times get rough or just for the heck of it. If you don’t have a condition on which you could use medical marijuana, I don’t believe you should be smoking. It turns into an unhealthy habit that is hard to break. Point, blank, period.

Don’t agree at ALL with the parent talk. First the discussion was full of generalizations. Parents that want to be best friends with their kids can win their respect through friendship and love. Read a philosophy book. Also kids with strict parent’s end up being the one’s with major drug or alcohol issues, lying and manipulative attitudes and can’t confide in their own family out of fear. I’d take a bff mom over a bossy mom anyday.

i feel like there is a difference between encouraging your children to do alcohol and drugs and allowing your kids to drink with you. for example a parent who goes up to their child regularly asking them to drink or do drugs with them is different than your kid wanting to drink (drugs not really haha) and you allowing them to do it while you’re there so they’re safe rather then at like a random party where no one will care for their safety. i feel like that’s what gen z would like to do. you know?? of course there’s limitation to everything. like my child is not trying meth for the “experience”.

Fear of being dope sick (you go into a "worst flu you've ever had in your life Times 50" if you don't get your fix enough) Fear of having to go to work dope sick or equally as bad fear of going into work after having accidentally doing too much before work. Fear of your boyfriend stealing your stuff. Fear of the people around you. Fear of death. Fear of getting arrested. Fear of everything. Fear of losing your family. Fear of your family losing you. It was a CONSTANT fear. I was terrified of drugs but then I got with someone who'd been clean for 2 years (my first "real" relationship) who then relapsed and I tried to help him but couldn't and I was terrified of losing his love back then and honestly it would've been for the best but everything happens for a reason and I'm so happy today that I can not and will not have any regrets in my past. It all happened for a reason.
