I am not questioning the feat of strenght, which is insanely impressive! But it this realy all coming from her own motivation for the sport, or is there a parent behind her pushing their own dreams through their child - like so many parents do?

At that age her structure hasn't even "solidified" yet, whatever that means. I'm even more worried about her knees going that far valgus than I would be to see an adult doing it. She needs some form coaching to augment her natural ability.
@CC-pf4wk
@CC-pf4wk Жыл бұрын
The knees are probably explained by either too wide of a stance or a lack of knee strength, most lifters will go through some sort of knee cave-in in their fitness journey so it's more or less normal. However she definitely needs to either practice front squatting with varied stances or start focusing on building some knee strength.

Funny enough, Rory isn't even a professional weight lifter. She's a gymnist. She only started lifting weights to complement her gymnastic skills (and apparently it's only a few hours a week). People were just so impressed by her strength that they put her in these strength competitions for fun.

@@Spicybrain03 I mean, you aren't stopping their dreams entirely, just delaying them a bit for their body to mature so that they don't fuck themselves up extremely early in life. Besides, that did NOT look like good form, not what I'd call "lifting weights with proper coaching"

Look, I know she's strong. There's no denying it, that's a very *very* impressive feat of strength -- but I'm not sure why we have to sugarcoat her form issues just because you (lifting vault) or her parents as well as some other people are tunnel-visioned by her impressive lifts. I'm not dogmatic for perfect form, I'm dogmatic for safety. That's NOT safe, neither the deadlifts I have seen. Her parents/coach have to teach her to be more strict and focused, or else she WILL get hurt in the long run, no one's body is an exception. Worse yet if powerlifting is being forced on her or if she has to hold up to her parents' standards...
