Another reason the bottom travels up in those pump containers is because they are "airless", meaning they don't allow air in to replace used product. This helps to keep remaining product from oxidizing and going bad.

Re: the idea of makeup causing acne, don't forget to wash your brushes and tools! Properly cleansing your face is important, but so is cleansing everything that touches it. Bacteria, oil, and general ick can build up on your makeup tools, and as it proliferates, can be transferred back to your skin and eyes, causing irritation and breakouts. (I'm guilty of this constantly, so posting this comment as a reminder to myself, too! 😅)
@julsdemers47402 ай бұрын
very helpful reminder right here, i'd like to add on that if your skin is very sensitive or acne prone, wearing makeup sparingly might be helpful as well, to avoid "angering" your skin as i call it 😂 personally for me only wearing makeup from time to time and not everyday, along with using aloe to prime, and washing + moisturizing extremely well afterwards, has been a life saver, hell since I started really making sure to protect my skin this way, the few days right after wearing makeup, my skin actually looks better than it did before! which to me only proves makeup isnt the cause of breakouts, its not properly and safely wearing your makeup (+ good storage is helpful too, no bathroom makeup, no applying it in the bathroom either, the air in there is FULL of bacteria!)

I also have rosacea. I got a sample of Dr. Jart Cicapair color correcting cream. Apparently it’s good for rosacea. Anyway when I first opened it I saw that it was green and I said wtf. Well, as you rub it in with your fingers it will match your skin tone. There’s none of those color beads in there like the Almay stuff has. I did have to powder over it but I just press the powder in. My daughter said my skin looked airbrushed. I’m 50 now and that was one of the best compliments I’ve heard in years, especially since she’s an artist (she does portraits) which also carries over to her makeup. It made me feel good coming from her

@afroqueen6982 ай бұрын
@@LunarEleven The problem isn’t the pen being too sharp, it’s that pen ink isn’t made to be eye safe. Even if you don’t jam the pen in your eye, pen ink could potentially leak, and if it somehow gets into your eye your vision could be put at risk. Actual eyeliner is bad enough to deal with getting out of your eye and there are products that are safe for the rest of your face that can’t go in your eyes, could you imagine the potential damage of something that’s not supposed to be around your face at all?

Years (and years..) ago I remember my step-Mom telling me to NEVER curl my lashes after doing your mascara because of an incident that happened to her - she had done her make up to go out and realized she forgot to curl her lashes… her lashes stuck to the curler and came out from the root (to put it in a less horrifying term). She had one eye with a full set of ashes and one bald. I honestly can’t remember what she said she did after that (obviously they grew back), but that has NEVER left my mind. This would have been in the 70’s, the formulations were quite a bit different and I have a feeling she just squeezed down and quickly opened her curler, as she normally would, not realizing the mascara would glom onto the curler and essentially adhere her lashes to the curler..!! I am SO careful now if I ever curl post mascara and open the curler millimetre by millimetre!

Had to pause the video to comment when it got to the 35 year old woman asking for help. I completely 100% agree with everything Robert had said and I would like to add that she needs to get rid of the fit me foundation and switch to a better formula or even something lighter such as a bb cream (depending on how much coverage she wants). The fit me foundation is known to pill and oxidize (I know from personal experience lol). I also would like to say that honestly pretty much any woman, or person rather, over the age of about 30 to 35 should only powder (and lightly powder using a powder brush) just under the eyes basically, maybe a little bit on the forehead depending on their skin and that’s about it really. Anything more than that just causes your skin texture and any lines you may have to be over accentuated. I should know as I am 40 and with a completely different skin type lol (dry and sometimes dehydrated). I really hope this woman got the help she needed . I almost want to check TikTok now to find out lol. There’s more things that could help such as a decent primer, maybe a little concealer and DEFINITELY ditching the ponds face cream and switching that out for something much more suited for her skin type, and with better ingredients. Skincare is the most crucial part and I am almost curious what her skincare routine is like 😂 but not gonna delve into that

3:53 I feel for her. I turned 35 in July and around age 34, I had to change all my “old reliables.” I had to minimize skin care, and trim the routine. Glycolic toner, hyaluronic acid and moisturizer. I hardly ever set with powder. It was a ROUGH YEAR! I even had to switch up how I applied it. I highly recommend The Ordinary and Inkey for skincare when you need to figure out what works for you.

I know the feeling. When my skin was more oily, it was powder everything. Now, I'm embracing cream products with a light loose powder for setting and a makeup spray.

I hope the woman from tiktok sees this. Such good advice, and you're absolutely right, she has great skin that could do really well with a more minimalist approach to the skin.
