This is the epitome of a comeback. The way she approached relearning trumpet can be a great start for anyone coming back or learning for the first time.

Thank you for this interview and the optimism it’s given my son and I. He is only 13 and trumpet has been his joy, he fell and knocked out top three front teeth. He wants to play so badly and get back to it.Thank you for this

@@katieramsey5028 happy to share this, especially if it helps someone. I know it can be discouraging to have an injury that prevents you from doing the thing that you love. Tell your son that I said he can do it and we’ll be here to guide him along the way.

I believe that part above the teeth she fractured it called the Palate (I can be wrong) I had a sever fractured on my palate and teeth as well I used to play French horn in meddle school after the fracture and now on my 40s recently picked up the trumpet it’s a little uncomfortable but my main concerned is that my air stream feels to be stronger on the side of my mouth and indeed I have more grip and feel I can make a better sound is there anything you can advise? Thank you 🙏

Good morning Mr. Davis, I live in Italy and it is very difficult to find Pickett mouthpieces. I don't have a chance to try them. I would like to ask you if you can tell me the exact model you are using. I really like the sound. Thank you very much.

Great story , great recovery......I had a similar expierience too , I slipped getting out of bed over bed linen and fell forward and catching myself but my top lip bumped the floor and became swollen . I recovered to play after a week but I missed the annual Skyway jazz fesitval , that was held the morning I slipped!

I read that Chet Baker lost his teeth and had to learn how to play again by adapting
