Just taking care of all of the trash is such a Great job. It’s nice that you were able to help the homeowner focus on just one thing first. This helps with anxiety. When I see too much stuff to do I get overwhelmed and freeze up. But when I’m able to focus on one thing it helps a lot. Making the homeowner feel comfortable with just the clothes helped her to start out and the hopefully do more. That’s great.

The trauma of finding her mother dead five days after she passed is beyond shattering. That she had anxiety issues earlier only made the problem worse, obviously. Thank you so much, as always, for being so kind, understanding and non-judgmental. Also, thank you for the tip about using an emery stone to clean up residue on a glass top stove. I told my wife about it, she immediately found one, and the stove top looks like new. It was not horribly dirty, you had to actually tilt your head to see the thin layer of buildup, but it had been bothering me for months. It made my day. Thank you.

I have family members who are hoarders and it’s so tough to help them over and over again. They try and have gotten a little better over time. It’s a process! Shaming people who are mentally weak anyway accomplishes the opposite result. Sometimes they need meds to get past their depression before they can get better. Barbie I appreciate what you do for these people! You are such a blessing!!!❤

I am truly sorry for that woman. I can relate to this because I found my mom dead on August 2020 when I came downstairs to get ready for work. My mom was living with and my youngest sister as she couldn’t live on her own anymore. It was the hardest thing for me to deal with for just about a year or so. I hope she is able to get help so she can heal. Thank goodness for you…❤❤❤

I think in cases like this some people really do well with a first task they just can start on like looking through the clothes. Executive dysfunction sometimes is "I just don't know where to start" and just being given one task is an opener to do the other stuff as well. Of course with all the things to do, it would be paralyzing. Good thing you are helping to make a start
