@@bigdude6256 220kg still good weight too! Dont get discouraged, if people are lifting with good form and consistency, is all that matters. Disproportionatly probably because we got strong glutes and hammies even if it dont work on different exercises so we just gotta train em consistently. And i would suggest, rdl barbell, slow but good proper technique form id say 3 times a week, join with dumbbell rdls too, and stay consistent with em, ya got this ✊️☺️

I’m a woman and I tell you that hip thrusts are super, super easy. A little practice and you can add so much weight… ridiculous weight. These guys just can’t yet cause they don’t quite have that movement pattern ingrained. However, my hammies will completely max out.
@thislittlepiggy-bedtime-videos7 ай бұрын
You’re lifting too heavy. If you say you don’t have much glutes.. than just do body weight and try on focusing on feeling it in the glutes. If you managed to feel in the glutes than add very little weight every session… as soon as you can’t feel the glutes again because of the new weight added, scale back down to a weight that helps you feel the glutes. Practice that weight.. add some reps with that weight.. squeeze for longer at the top and then try again to add a little bit on weight. Honestly don’t add too much weight at all!!!! Different to what people might suggest.. but trust me! People are ego lifting with hip thrust. I lift quite a bit.. but I started very small. Sometimes I ego lifted too.. up to 250 kg… but I preferred to back down and actually feel the glutes.. otherwise what’s the point?? Honestly… add very little weight…

Given the amount of weight I see people do with hip thrusts (and the lack of 'hips' I see on them) I feel like they aren't that good a workout. If I were to do them for size, I'd do a normal hip thrust concentric then a one leg for the eccentric/isometric for overload (probably would have to be done in a smith machine). I've been doing this with my leg curls and extensions and it's been pretty effective at forcing them to actually feel something.

If size is your goal (as it is with the millions of women doing this exercise across the glove) barbell hip thrust are pretty shit for building glutes. Research has pretty consistently shown that tension on a muscle in a lengthened position is most effective for hypertrophy, which hip thrust just don't do. It's basically a half rep. Combine that with the fact that it's a pain in the ass to set up since you need to load this shit up with a lot of weight it's just a waste of time.
