Seeing Bruce talk so much about tony is bittersweet because they were the only two avengers that seemed like actual buddies outside of work so it sweet that he’s very fond of tony but also sad that we weren’t able to see more of those moment like them at the bar in Mexico, that’s would’ve been something 😭

When you break down The Hulk as a character, he is the embodiment of rage from the perspective of a man. She- Hulk was written by Stan Lee to be the embodiment of rage from a woman's perspective, this show is so far sticking true to that sentiment that Stan held onto so dearly: everyone gets a superhero to look up to. Fingers crossed for the rest of the season

As many others have already pointed out, Hulk also has to do with your struggles and personality. It was never brought up in the movies but in the comics, people say Bruce had an abusive father and has DID like Moon Knight. On top of that, he is reclusive and has not much of a social life outside of some few friends and family members. His Hulk form is much more hostile and because of him storing all of his past anger and frustration, he is not able to contain it. Just like how in real life when you can't hold anger inside you anymore, you tend to go all out, Bruce's Hulk persona is an exaggeration of that. Jennifer is a different person. She has group of friends and colleagues around her, she is into online dating and is adapted at controlling her anger but also preventing it from getting a hold of her. Some people are better able to make sure they don't get overwhelmed and let loose.

That post credit scene might be one of my favorites of the entire MCU. I also really like Jenn and Bruce's dynamic, they're very believably cousins with a noticeable age difference. What I find should be noted also is that while Jenn is naturally better at composing herself Bruce is also generally not very good at it, due to his childhood trauma and all that.

12:50 Well, yeah, she's right. Bruce grew up in an abusive household, which is why his split personality manifested. A deep fear of expressing emotion caused by the actions of his father both towards him and towards his mother. Jennifer, on the contrary, didn't have that environment growing up. That's why there's no additional hand on the wheel. Blonsky, neither. Her powers are completely under control as well as her mind.

I love how they're introducing mutants into the MCU. The way they've painted it, Hulk and She-Hulk were never technically human. They were extremely low-level mutants who then got their extremely specific powers fueled by external circumstances (gamma). Exactly the same thing. I wonder if in the MCU they'll bring the inhumans in as sort of a middle step between humans and mutants. There's powerless humans, then there's inhumans, who don't have powers but can be triggered into having powers. And then as generations go by you get individuals who need less and less intense triggers to gain powers. And then eventually, puberty is enough to do it, and voila, you have proper mutants. It'd be very different from the comics, especially with whatever they've been doing recently making the mutants somehow related to deviants or whatever, but it seems like what they're doing.

Honestly, at this point, I've genuinely stopped giving a shit what whiny bitch-boys have to say about She-Hulk. This pilot episode was a lot of fun to watch. I was surprised at how emotional some scenes were. The parts where Banner remembers Tony and where Jen talks about having to control her anger at the levels of misogyny were compelling. Look, obviously, I'll never know what it's like to be a woman, and I hopefully never will. So, the people trashing this show need to get a life. Tatiana Maslany? Picture-perfect casting as Jennifer Walters. Mark Ruffalo is amazing as Hulk. I don't care what anyone says, I love Smart Hulk. MCU Titania, to me, seems like a social media influencer. I don't know why. Also, of course, how could I forget the funniest line in the MCU: "Captain America fu..!!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Can't wait for Episode 2!

Not my favorite, but not as bad as some people are saying I definitely prefer other versions of She-Hulk more but I'm hoping that it will get better. As for the lullaby I always thought it was obvious. Bruce and Natasha were kinda romantically into each other at that point, and the lullaby being delivered by someone Bruce liked that way helped calm him down. Same way Betty is able to calm Hulk down in the Hulk movie and the cartoons. And Jennifer here is acting like Men aren't constantly told not to have any feelings at all, and made fun of for having any feelings besides being stoic.
@AmazingChi
@AmazingChi Жыл бұрын
If anything what Jen says only reinforces you last point. Women constantly have to control their emotions, Men are taught to just not have them. Thus, when faced with them as Hulk, Bruce didn't know how to deal with that but Jen does.
@SebasTian58323
@SebasTian58323 Жыл бұрын
@@AmazingChi not really, because men still feel those feelings. They just don't show them to others. The same way Jen is acting is unique to women. Bruce's whole alternate personality Hulk is the result of heavy psychological damage born from an abusive father, a murdered mother, and an aversion to anger because of said abusive father. Jen doesn't have said damage.
@AmazingChi

@@SebasTian58323 Precisely. Women are taught to control, men are taught to suppress, which are very different things, the latter is far more destructive. Do we know if MCU Bruce has the same childhood? It's been so long since I watched the canon film haha.

I went in with high hopes and low expectations and can say it exceeded expectations but fell short of my hopes. I loved the dynamics between Bruce and Jen, they really sold me on the familial relation they have. The humor was mostly on point, and it played out better than some would lead you to believe. But I do feel it had some fairly preachy moments that could've been dialed back a notch or two and I'm getting somewhat exhausted with the trope of everytime a female protagonist is presented there has to be a scene with a group of drunk guys harassing her. I've been a fan of Tatiana Maslany since her Orphan Black days and I'm looking forward to how the rest of the season plays out. I just hope it doesn't go any more heavy handed than some scenes tended to suggest.

Why would it matter if Steve lost his V-Card to Peggy Carter?? 🤨 I doubt she was a virgin when she met him. Does that lessen their love story any less? 🤷🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

It doesn't matter, its just a fun thing because there was ALOT of discussion about how he would be able to have sex.

If the gifted apprentice trope isn't handled right it comes off like Vers. If they aren't humbled, then there is no character growth. You can't just have someone be better because reasons.. it's bad story telling.

I really enjoyed this episode but I just wished that they showed her being angry more over more thing than just men. Because even though cat calling happens I do believe that Lot of women just take kindness the wrong way and say its cat calling too sometimes. And her being angry with mosly men may make people turn away from the character and I understand because it sounds a little petty to me but I try to understand both sides the best I can.

A bit too much "Woman good, man bad" so hopefully they'll turn that down a bit because it has potential. She-Hulk looks and act as she should. The visuals worked fine.
