As someone who tried this. It's because there are videos on the internet saying it is not damaging or less damaging than bleach and I didn't know any better. Unfortunately there's not enough educating resources saying it is a bad idea. Your videos have been entertaining and extremely educational. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

I remember clients telling me some of the stuff they used on their hair. Toothpaste, bleach(laundry), baby oil, and a whole lot more. At first it was hard for me to tell them what I was thinking without screaming "NO!". Over the years, I got better at telling them better products in place of the crazy stuff. But sometimes I still wanted to scream. LOL

I use a very small amount of baking soda, apple cider vinager and laundry soap when washing grimy clothes. That combo strips the dirt and odor. I couldn't imagine using it in my hair. It would all fall out.
@dude988

Soda and vinegar cancel each other out. Mix them together and you get water and some salts. You can first use soda to get rid of the grime, then neutralize it with the vinegar which will also kill bacteria and therefore get rid of any smells.

I love golden blond - I think it's so much more flattering for warm skin tones. I don't get the obsession with cool/ash- blond hair. It's beautiful if it's done well and if you have the right nuance undertone in your skin...otherwise it can make you look sick or older.

This woman is so sweet and she is eminently capable of learning and succeeding at this. She simply needs consistent good advice, tips and to be taught what she is doing that doesn't work and just doing what does work. For a home job her hair is significantly better than many of the bleach fails I've seen on here. It is within a tolerance level that makes it possible for her to wear it this way or continue to work on it until it is even in color. Or she could invest in a correction at the salon. But overall I'm glad for her that her hair didn't fall out and looks like it will recover. Everybody just has to stop trying to remove color with baking soda and harsh detergent.
@ALNizhoni

No. This woman is choosing to be a moron. And she's doing actual harm by putting this video out there. There are STILL people who will watch this madness and think, 'Oh, baking soda? I've got that in my pantry!' even after watching her results. This has got to stop. Someone being soft-spoken doesn't mean they're "sweet," and being wilfully uneducated is a choice.

You mentioned that purple shampoo is not a toner, but at my last salon done bleach session my hairdresser told me she was only going to use purple shampoo and conditioner to tone my hair. I ended up toning it a myself with Wella T 27 (beige blonde) because it definitely needed toned. And now I am in the process of taking it back to a warmer blonde, thank you HB for your assistance with what to use to repigment my hair before using the 8G golden blonde. I have learned so much from you, and have been entertained.

As someone who has dandruff and used to dye their hair, I can guarantee that something in the head and shoulders anti dandruff does fade colour. But it just makes it fade faster over repeated washings. Using a whole bottle in one session isn't going to make it work faster or more effectively.

Baking soda is extremely damaging. Take a spoon, mix it with a bit of water and put it on your hand - it will burn! I use it to clean burned pots and lime In the bathroom. And I use gloves, because it damages skin. It's chemistry, Just because baking soda is edible and "natural" doesn't mean It's safe, and better for your hair than bleach. Arsenic is natural, led is natural, radium is natural, it doesn't mean It's safe and better than "chemicals" in any products, every substance out there is "chemical"! Also, hairmask from drugstore is good, but bleach is bad? Because not natural? Make it make sense.

Honestly nonprofessionals, 1/2” inch from the scalp should be considered your roots. Any hair passed 1/2” should be considered mid-shaft. Or what HairBudda Called “the lengths,’ in addition depending on if hair is virgin or previously colored, 1/2” away from the ends should be treated like the roots. Just go see a professional.

I would ask "Have you tried to remove a stain from any surface with such produces?" It will only dull the stain, but never remove, so WHY would one think it would take the "stain" out of something so delicate as your hair? Vinegar and baking soda work on metals such as silver due to chemical reactions. Last I checked, hair is not made of metal. Yeah sure we do not need hair to survive, but hair IS part of the human body therefore needs to be studied like any other body part in order to change it, fix it and keep it healthy so give our PROFESSIONAL trained, schooled hair DOCTORS!

Blue tint is a pain to get rid of, I've done it many many times. The last time I went from blue to a copper brown. From blue/green I did a bleach bath (10vol+shampoo) then went bubble gum pink for a few months, then bleach bath again, then backfilled with a vibrant orange, then put on the copper/medium brown. Going from blue to anything else on the other side of the colour wheel is going to be a long process. If you try to do it all in one go your hair will be damaged for sure.

I'm all for natural care and all, but I don't get where all these using of baking soda (or lemon juice, or dish soap etc.) for EVERYTHING, came from. Sure, there's great uses for these things, but some of these 'hacks' are just plain stupid and random. And sure, you're gonna have slightly lighter hair from them, because the hair will be dried out and more porous, hence appearing a tiny bit lighter. And some dyes may wash out faster, as with any other harsher detergent agents. 🤷‍♀️

Hello!! Can anyone tell me if a bleach bath would work to lighten/strip out my burgundy/brown hair dye? I've NEVER bleached or did a bleach bath before, so im unsure how it works. Or should i try color oops or something like that?

I think I'm beginning to understand why there is not a single hair left on Hair Buddhas head. 🤭 Millions of hair fail videos using coconut oil, baking soda, quick blue, ponytail technique, T18 and so on. Nobody has so many hair.

I made a real mess of my hair this time HB, after attempting to bleach my roots only they didn't turn yellow but as usual they turned orange kinda like this girls end result anyhow I tried T18 for the first time and all my other yellow hair turned purple!!!!! I swear I could've cried. So dumb me bleached only the roots and bleach bathed the rest of the hair. Now it's looking better than before I toned at least being same color wise but its damaged AF. My hair has never been noodle like and I've still got to tone it!! I'm afraid to say but with box dye as that I find better than toner but I'm afraid because nobody knows the volume they use in these box dyes

I just dont understand, why people think, products that are made for cleanin dishes or something else are better for your hair than products that are meant to be used for your hair... What? Guess I should try bakin my muffins with 20 developer? Just joking... Oof

I can't wait until the name "Hair Buddha" becomes as popular as "Brad Mondo". Hair Buddha is just as funny and amazing as Brad imo.
