As everyone was dancing around her, I could not help but to think... She is noticing she is different. And that has to be okay. She needs to know, it is okay to stand out. I wish communicating with peers was easier for her though. She wants to be social.

You are so right, David, this world just needs to accept people and not shun those who seem different. I would never want Braylee to feel like she needs to mask her difference. She has so much to offer this world, she needs to be able to share her differences and know that she is accepted and appreciated.

I love it so much that Braylee has her opinion about what dresses she likes! Some kids don’t care which of course is fine too. What a super fun night!

So happy Braylee had a great time. I was crying I was so happy. I have been following Braylee’s journey for a long time. David you said it perfectly. Being different is ok. Spreading autism awareness is going to make the world a better place for all children. Braylee you looked amazing in that dress. What a great Daddy Daughter date dance together. Just priceless.

You were talking about how important building a community is, for both Braylee & you as parents. I'm loving that your community is not just other families with autistic children (like the Maass family). Imo as an autistic adult, it's extremely important to have a wide variety of people in your community. You will relate to each of them on a different level

She looks beautiful. I had to lol at "no" Our daughters 8, and so similar to B. Our girl loves to go to parties and music and dancing! She has challenges with communicating too. I know how you feel and I know as our girls get older, their differences to typical girls is more pronounced. I just love your chat at the end. Thank you for that.

I understand, I am an adult living with Asperger’s Syndrome, and a mild learning delay, they say now that Asperger’s is just higher functioning autism, I don’t really know. I do know that it’s a struggle with learning certain life skills, however I do enjoy my life I am on the special Olympics team which is a lot of fun, I do have a part time job, which is going pretty good. I live on my own. Bray Lee has come a long ways since I had started watch a few years ago. You both doing a great job with her.

♥️♥️Please Stacey or David, this Dance brought up a comment I have asked several times. I know there is an entire sector of Autism that believe their kids need to MASK to be more Neurotypical. That will make their child's life better. I disagree. The reason I disagree is because I have watched over the years how the two of you allow Braylee to just be who she is. You're not telling her you need to act like other people so you will be more normal. whatever that means. I know you understand what I'm saying. There is this young lady on KZbin who is so amazing I can't believe she's more than 16 or I don't know, she seems young. She is so articulate about Autism and it's really a treat to hear her talk about it and she said MASKING was the worst thing for her ever. The reason she gave was that it was always trying to change who she was. For instance so-called neurotypical people when they meet somebody they reach out their hand, they look in the other person's eyes, and they say, pleasure to meet you. So she had to go through these drills over and over till she could mimic neurotypical behavior. And she said it was all BS, because she didn't feel it at all and she did not want to do it. It wasn't in her nature. I think this would be a great conversation for a video. I think the way you guys are with Braylee is the best way. If they're not harming themselves or harming others then why try and correct who they are? it doesn't need correction. it's the outside world that needs to see people on the spectrum for who they are and the way that they are and that is just perfect. In saying all this, I want to know what you guys feel about ABA therapy. I sure hope you will comment back to me because I find this such a fascinating subject and it's one reason I love watching your videos. Today is my birthday May 20th and I can't believe I'm 66 years old and I am definitely not neurotypical. I love the Wee family 💕🫂🔥

I always felt different. Or made to feel different. Like being kicked out of kindergarten for not fitting in. I am from the 60's. Autism wasn't yet a thing. Braylee has it so much better. How my face looks to others does not necessarily show my feelings. I might look bored for instance but having a really good time. I hear the same thing from other autistics. I think because you guys know your kid, it is about more then facial expression. People that know me can often tell more about my state of mind by looking at my hands rather then my face. Braylee's speech is improving little by little. "Vulonteering" words however.... I am still not great at it. Keeping a conversation going.... yikes... I still feel like I need to be prompted sometimes, otherwise I am fine being quiet, or at least not speak to others. Echolelia yes. I do however have a full vocabulary, and I hope Braylee keeps improving her communication skills in general.

Try using her acc device to have a conversation with her about the event to see how she feels about it. But as long as she is happy it doesn’t matter.
