This song is incredibly restrained because it wants to go hard. Alanis is one of those rare artists that can successfully pull off that sound.

Yeah, you can feel it. Kind of the same way you could always feel Weezer wanting to just turn into full-blown metal.

We saw her live in Toronto several weeks ago. She was incredible! Not only does she sound exactly like she does on her CD's she sounds like she's been practicing every single day since JAGGED LITTLE PILL was first released. If possible, her amazing voice may even have gotten stronger and she doesn't seem to have lost any of her range. If you're not a concert-goer and you're only going to see one concert in your entire life go see Alanis! You won't be disappointed!

I shelled out the big $ to see Rammstein this summer (Montreal), if not I would have sprung for Alanis. It just cost too much, unfortunately. It was Budweiser stage, not Scotiabank or something, so the cost was surprising. Glad she put in a good show for you ☺️

@Droo752 жыл бұрын
@@jtarantula3390 funny how your whole list is US artists only 😂 Sounds facetious, I know, but the singles charts were actually determined by young girls as they were the largest purchasers of singles. If you want to see which artists actually were best, you should look at Album charts :) more of a cross section. In saying that, all the artists on your list rank well there too (nsyc, cult of personality). Globally, these artists were massive too, but many others of the era were not American, not US Billboard, and greater than many listed. Always subjective though, so I am being facetious 🤷♂️ 🫠🤯

@Forst Last Not a true comparison.. ariana is comparable to the pop stars that dominated when Uninvited was released.. true industry pop like britney spears.. assigned songwriters to them.. ariana is not comparable to an artist like Alanis.. The FM radio gatekeepers decided back then that britney was better than Alanis. I challenge you to dig deeper if you can only think of Ariana as a comparison. There are absolutely female singer songwriters that have great voices and sing good songs that they write. Those same gatekeepers who promoted britney over this song are in even more control of the airwaves in 2022. F the gatekeepers.
