It's cool seeing Brad getting smitten with the 90's female artists that us dudes did back in the day. Was lucky enough to get tix from the radio station I worked with back then to see her at Taste of Chicago in Grant Park back in '95 for this tour. First time I saw Taylor Hawkins play live, as well. You may want to check out 'You Learn,' next.✌

The human experience of just making it through the day, wanting the world to be better, and realizing all the contradictions in yourself and in others. And being basically okay with them. Or at least, having faith that it's all gonna work out. That last part is trickier some days than others.

Her song "Thank You" is, for me, the best Alanis song there is.... Early in her career, before this album, she was extremely pop-y... like, very 'radio-pop' driven tunes. Then a few years passed, and she came onto the scene with this album and had re-invented her image . This was the album that rocketed her into stardom, and with further albums, she gets even more deep and introspective, as her songs really tell the story of the world and events around her that shaped her into who she became. I never tire of her music.

As a kid she was on You Can't Do That on Television, that show was SO FUNNY. Like they had a skit they would normally do where a kid is tied up to a pole, and a military officer is saying "Ready! Aim!" and the kid says "wait, wait, stop the execution!" and unties themselves while trying to trick the officer into saying "Fire!" but they duck, so the officer is the one who gets shot lmao. But they also have this thing where they dump slime on you if you say "I don't know". So Alanis was in this skit where this kid Alastair was asking other kids what he should name his band. One kid says "let me think..." and Alastair says, "that's too intellectual. Alanis, what do you think?" And Alanis says, "oh, I don't know...." and then green slime drops on her. And she says "Alastair! You did that on purpose! I hate you now!" lmao. It's here on youtube. She was on many episodes. I used to watch that show all the time as a kid, funny as hell. 🙂

I was 25 when Alanis hit the scene, like most guys at the time I was smitten as well.
