Gen X checking in. A substitute teacher in high school auto shop told me/ asked me to wash his transam with the shop Hotsy steam cleaner. I asked, are you sure? He told me to get busy. It started stripping the crappy GM clear coat right off of it. Then, class ended and that was that. Bless your heart, Mr Redmond. The best auto shop instructor in the world.

F58 here, I could have dated every day the summer I was driving a pos loaner that I had to adjust the transmission on once a week or so (literally tightening a bolt that was easy enough to reach). “Little lady you need help “ no thanks I got it. My dad taught me to change and rotate tires, check the oil and add wiper fluid the summer I was 12. I rehung my muffler on my 73 VW bug. Good times! Even if I could still see I don’t think I’d tackle a newer car though.

@@patriciaabatemarco3834 right? i started driving farm equipment at 12 (all manual/no power steering) and worked on the cars of the '60s - '80's as a teen into my early 30's, nothing fancy but i knew how it all worked and could fix what broke. i look under the hood of a modern car and i barely recognize what it is.

@saleendriver not all women are car illiterate. My dad and my uncles all built cars and engines for a living. I was the youngest so I was always with my Dad, he taught me basic car maintenance, some body work. I sharpened my skills by working several years at Advance Auto parts as a parts delivery driver. And for the three years before the pandemic I worked for a local junkyard in my hometown selling new and used car parts. I'm not a certified mechanic but I know the basics and I definitely know you're not supposed to clean the car like this😂😂😂 I am also the one who maintains mine and my husband's vehicles.

I know a number of people who have spray painted tremclad over over the original paint job for a number of reasons. I honestly believe this is a satirical skit, notice her voice over while someone else is removing the Spray paint.

Where I used to work, the sales rep was an habitual practical joker. Having a nice new shiny car, which he was oh so proud, he complained it got dirty every time the delivery/collection truck came. Seeing an opportunity for some petty revenge and protect his pride and joy from that nasty dust, we wrapped his car in cling film... industrial cling film... oops! We had no idea it could be used as a paint remover! On the bright side, it successfully stopped his 'jokes'.

My wife doesn't have a drivers license, so, by default, legally, she's not allowed to touch my car without permission. To boot, she's not interested in using a power washer either. That said... My front bumper is made of plastic, of course, like all of them are made today, and, well, the paint job on it is starting to flake off showing the black undercoat or plastic color... on a white car. I'm AFRAID to take a power washer to it right now FOR THIS REASON SHOWN IN THIS VIDEO!!!

I realize that was a bit, and intended as humor but it is in truth an exaggerated demonstration of why you should never be in a relationship with a stupid person. They do stupid things that were intended to be acts of kindness but instead cost you money or create more work for you and eventually your ability to deal with these stupid problems will disappear leaving you in a situation of having to destroy a stupid person's life by leaving them for doing what they thought was a nice thing.

Honestly the 3rd and better option is to just get a new paint job. Miatas (NA Miata’s which is what the car was) are so hard to find or to replace it with it would be better to get a paint job and after that make sure she does another job to make up for the damage lol jk but seriously this was in good intentions.

I once etched my concrete driveway with a pressure washer. The good ones are pretty impressive. Take six million years to make the Grand Canyon with erosion, or a couple weekends with a decent pressure washer.
