Maybe Carly wasn't being completely open about her symptoms. I don't think the therapist, or even her mom knew about the voices. If her mom knew, I like to think she would've had her daughter evaluated well before she found out about the cutting. This probably wouldn't have ended in tragedy if she had been accurately diagnosed and treated accordingly. This is all just a theory though. The gun also should have been inaccessible to Carly. This was so sad, considering the thought that this child put into her actions, she definitely seemed psychopathic. She wasn't angry, she was just cold. What did she think would happen after she killed her parents? I'm just grateful she didn't harm more people. Her sentence is harsh though, a teenage brain isn't sober enough to be tried as an adult, though I also don't think psychopaths can be rehabilitated. But they can learn to live within society's norms.

Wow. Armchair expert. Tell us more about psychopathy and mental illness that you definitely think she has. Of course you think that she was cold and not angry. She finished killing her parents. some Americans want harsher sentences and some want lighter, its not about science and never it was, its about politics and the will of the masses.

What sucks the most is that everything could have been prevented if she was diagnosed correctly. Pretty sure they just saw a kid “scissoring” herself and just thought “oh she’s just depressed”…….. No even gonna get into the gun under the bed😂

You can't fully balme her, you don't know what she was going through mental disorder can get really worse sometimes, also the easy access of weapon was the problem.

No we kinda have to blame her for killing someone then attempt another murder so it doesn’t really matter we still blame her

To be honest, i've had some close contact with both zaza and peolple who abuse it. I've met people that changed a lot for the worse, but even looking at it from a scientific point of view, the kind of psychoative components it has just can't make you do that kind of thing. Another thing is a heavy malpractice and a misdiagnosis, but even in that case it'd be really rare for the zaza to have anything to do with it, in my opinion is just a case of "it was cause of drugs!" instead of focusing in who made the kid feel like she was "just" depressive instead of addressing all the issues she had. Most drug addicts become one cause of external circumstances, not the other way around

It could have elevated her psychosis, which can happen with most drugs and if she really had a mental disorder, but that is about it.
