We are a special needs family and we face a lot of challenges that other families don't face but we love, laugh, and most importantly we never give up when times are tough. Our family survived a house fire and instead of letting it tear us apart, tragedy has brought us all together and made us stronger. Hey there! I would recommend swimming as part of Autum's exercise program. It's low impact on the joints so if she's having pain it won't likely aggravate it. Besides, she seems to love the pool. Of course, it would be indoors now since cooler weather has arrived.

I know with my OCD a part of it is having a consistent schedule as it helps with not feeling stressed or overwhelmed with stuff so I believe in Autumns case her doing things in the order that feels right to her is important and can get her to where she feels comfortable and not feeling stressed out

Autumn is such a brave young lady, she takes her shots like a champ! just three weeks ago i had to go get my covid shot again.i hated it it was terrible. Me being a 34 year old woman is stressful and still have to be a flu shot.. ugh. Great Job autumn! your parents are so proud of you!

I don’t have a fear of needles, they just make me uncomfortable and my arm gets so sore after getting them.

Yes she is capable but she also has a disability. I prefer person first language but to each their own, if they want to use the adjective they totally can

"Disabled" is a neutral descriptor, not an insult. Disability isn't something to lie about or sugarcoat. People with disabilities are worthy of love and can be as amazing as anybody else... but they struggle to do things others can do more easily. They are not typical, and that's OK.

@@marywynne7931 it s not lovd but aknowledgement and recognition. If you say " as capable" you automaticatically compare someone (in this case) with someone else who COULD be more capable. I am capable, full stop AND I have a disability (or am disabled, however makes the person more comfortable)

3:20. I noticed they used the old fashioned blood pressure machine vs the modern one, where you can pump it up slower so it shows a more accurate number, if you are sensitive to machines squeezing your body, thus making the results high, and getting medication when it’s not needed.

Autumn looks great, really, my daughter is WAY less compliant and has way worse muscle tone than Autumn, Autumn is doing amazing and she has great tone and a nice confident walk, she looks fantastic ❤️

The last time I saw my doctor was on May 23 of this year one day after I turn 42. I gone for my annual cancer screening tests that came back normal. She is worry about my weight graining so I am trying to do more walking and not eat a lot of sweet I do have sleep Apnea I have mild to mordant sleep apnea and I just got my own sleep apnea machine I have to wait next year for the ministry to approval for the sleep apnea mask.

Hello. The repetitive speech is very common in autism, and that maybe due to change. As far as stomach issues, another common issue in autistic children. ❤❤❤ very proud of her !!!

I am autistic myself, and I can relate to things like the doctors office. I get scared myself at times, and yes, my mom is allowed in those exam rooms. There are a few instances I am able to go on my own. One of them is a local urgent care, and most cases, the dentist. For the dentist, she is in the waiting room in case they need her. For emergency room, she has to be in with me because lots of things can scary, and I need the distractions by her talking to me. You’re a strong momma.

Can you try seated exercises for her? I am a wheelchair user and because of this it is difficult for me to get exercise also because all I can do is seated exercises or parallel bar standing. If you have a Nintendo switch in the house she may be able to do exercises with that with a little help or a lot of help.

I wonder if the doctor would be willing to numb her arm for the shots. I had this done for an arm implant recently and I didn’t feel anything when the procedure was done. I don’t know if it’s even possible to do that but it would probably be worth asking.
