Just watched the CCTV footage and it can be clearly seen that she wasn't looking where she was going. She wasn't speeding but the car just casually rolled and run over the couple. She most probably was looking at her phone. In her official statement she said she was "thinking about something". You don't think about something while not looking at the road while driving.

I will tell you about a very recent case that happened to my brother. So, he was driving with my nephew in Jaipur when suddenly a Fortuner banged into my brother's car. The driver of the fortune was drunk and so were the co-passengers. My brother's car toppled and my nephew (8 years old) got window glass pierced into his face. Nothing happened to the Fortuner and its passengers. Upon calling the police, the police arrived in time but because the Fortuner guy was some rich dude, the police refused to do the breath analyzer test on him. We kept insisting but the police just bluntly refused. Now, we have to pay for the car's damage, the medical expenses etc. This is how the system works!!

I am law student and I am telling you that recently woman and her husband didn't get bail at all who are accused of offence of extortion and cheating under section 388 and 420 IPC. These couple committed fraud against a man by telling that he will get job of handsome salary if he pays money 3 lakhs to them. These man paid money to them but didn't get job. So he wanted his money back but woman threatened her if he didn't pay more 10 lakhs to her and her husband then he will be implicated in false rape case. He gave the money to her and her husband to escape the situation. Thank god, he had evidence like call recording, text messages, document showing agreement. He lodged an FIR in police station and luckily police officers investigated the whole matter and ARRESTED them. Since the man already has evidences against woman and her husband so lower court denied bail to them.

If he is a thinker, he would eventually mellow down, plus the advice you can give him is to focus on his studies rather than girls for now.Because relationship with no direction to head in are always those typical so called love stories where the girl leaves or family forces marriage on either of them and they so-called cannot refuse. Sirji kya batayein ye woman friendly kanoon... gareeb ghar ki ladki se shaadi hui UP mein...dedh mahine mein ladki gai apne ghar delhi se ... bheja hamne khushi se ...wanha jaakar ek mahine baad pata nahi kya hua ladki ne kar liya suicide (pata laga uska affair ghar mei kisi se tha... hua hoga kuchh)....ladki ke ghar waalo ne mukadma daal dia dahej utpeedan ka...puri family ke naam.....bus police ne chhapa maarna start kardya turant hi...fir ladki waalo ne maange 20 lakh samjauthe ke liye....humme se kisi ki itni himmat nahi hui ki koi Police ke aas paas bhi bhatak le baat karne ke liye...kabhi paala to pada nahi police se..... paiso ka hi mamla hota to hum gareeb ghar mei shaadi hi kyo karte jinke ghar ki hi income muskil se 10 hazar hain...saalo ko AC train ke safar karwao... paise bheje admision fee ke ...aur 1 mahine mein kai baar paise bheje kharche ke liye...phir bhi dahej humne maanga... wah re kanoon....
