I had to look up who this Zelda character is! Are these lass’s 12? I want to look like a video game character is the oddest thing I’ve heard yet 😂. The gal with waist length hair had me roaring with her ONE box of colour lifting dye! My hair is waist length and I used FOUR boxes of ColourZapp to remove my dye and go au natural three years ago. ONE BOX? 🤦♀️ I’m 53 now with very white hair on top of my head slowly taking over the light grey throughout the rest of my hair. Before that I would always say my hair is Auburn with grey/white highlights, it was fabulous fun watching peoples reactions. (Don’t fret HB, after using the colour remover my hair was almost completely to its natural colour but I went to a professional to do the rest! That’s above my pay grade!).

"I want to look like Zelda." My reaction "Get a wig." The blonde color is a bright gold. Even in Final Fantasy Tactics, the blonde on a lot of characters is a bright gold color. I dressed as the Dancer Class from Tactics one year. The wig I settled on is from Epic Cosplay in their Autumn Gold color. The Persephone style is under $100 USD. It's fairly easy to style as long as you don't rush. ❤

That's a great choice! Wigs can be a fantastic way to switch up your look without the risk of damaging your hair. The Dancer Class sounds like a fun cosplay!
@PurpleandWhiteStories15 сағат бұрын
@hair-buddha It was a lot of fun! I have one cosplay that I can use my own hair; the rest of them have wigs. I would say the biggest learning curve is how to style your hair for under the wig, whether or not you'll need a wig cap, then how to put the wig on.

Some box dyes are better than others. I like schwarzkopf personally. But yeah my hair is thick and down to my hips. One box will do my roots. That's it no more. Thankfully I just retouch my roots now and let my ends fade a bit and be topped up with semi permanent. Pretty easy to go from light brown to auburn too.

Color doesn't lift color! That looked like blond box dye to me, not bleach. She needed to do more research and prepare a lot more! She needed bleach for her lengths, not box dye. The box dye only worked on her roots because of the high volume developer. Like HB said, research is key!

I got my cosmetology license from high school cosmetology 1988 ,so I do have some knowledge of doing hair. I'm a natural level 7 very dishwasher blonde (was platinum as kid up until 14) I've been either highlighting ,coloring or bleaching since my hair darkened. I now bleach and tone myself. Yes it's hard to do yourself even knowing what you are doing. I actually have about 4 mirrors surrounding my head that I use in my bathroom to do my roots, so I can clearly see exactly what I'm doing and that I don't overlap to my already bleached hair. You have to be so careful and do 4 sections and then take very very thin 1/8 inch slices. There's definitely an art to it. It's like being a surgeon and an artist all in one. I will never understand these girls just slapping bleach or color on their hair. 1. Not knowing what they are doing 2. Not sectioning and taking small slices. 3. Not using the correct products. Like I can bleach and tone, but would never ever highlight my own hair or anything that I don't absolutely know how or can do it on my own head. If you are going to do your hair get someone to help you do the back, or at least get one of those folding 3 way mirrors where you can see clearly what you're doing on the back of the head. Trust me, you thank me later when you don't miss spots and then have a whole nother color correction problem.

When I was fourteen in 1997 I wanted to be blonde due to watching Stargate SG1. (Major Carter had blonde hair and I loved it). Have I bleached my hair? Yes. Did I ever go to full blonde? Anyone with long or thick hair should know this it even says so on the instructions.
