Yoyoka was eight years old in this video. She is now eleven years old. You have to see the cover of Burn - Deep Purple. And you're wrong, she's not a fantastic drummer for someone who is eight years old. Yoyoka is a fantastic drummer. Who said? Ian Paice and Robert Plant.

For anyone that wants to really know how good she is (not that anyone doubts it), change the vid to .50 speed and watch at at 3:26 how she almost drops the stick in her right hand by accidentally hitting it on the side of her drum after hitting the cymbal on her right. What a phenomenal save! Never lost her smile or the beat! I think most drummers would have dropped the stick. I never noticed it until "Wave Potter" did a reaction of it and caught it. He was quite impressed that she didn't drop the stick.

That was fun to see. And it learnt me another thing. I now often look at her videos at 50% speed. Then you can fully appreciate the complicated things going on. Timing between the hans and feet.

Her cover of Deep Purples "Burn" is absolutely awesome. Even better than this one. You should see Ian paice's reaction to her. He was highly impressed by her and promptly invited her to collaborate with him in the future. She's also been named one of the greatest living drummers in history by drummer world at 11.

Don't worry, very few drummers in the world can hold a candle to this musical genius's drumming. She is 11 now and although awesome in this vid, lightyears better. Youngest ever to be endorsed by Pearl Drums. Youngest ever to make Drummer World's Top 500 Drummers of all time. Someone provided the link below. It is a must see for this one thing. There is a photo near the bottom of the page of her drumming at 1.5 yo IN A FREAKIN' BIB!

Ha! That was over three years ago. Wait until you see how good she is now. BTW, Yoyoka started when she was two, was playing live on stage at the age of four, and by the time she was eight she could do anything John Bonham could do. She's now eleven and seriously out of this world. Cheers from the UK!

Yoyoka was born with raw talent, a prodigy. You can't teach anyone that. Watch some of her later covers of Led Zeppelin , Jon Bonham reincarnated, ... at 9 as good as any drummer around. She recently wrote and produced her own song "Sparkling" which is progressive, Skills are insane!

My dudes... Yoyoka is now 12 and just covered Led Zeppelin's Achilles Last Stand, a song I had never heard. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5CQkIl3p96sn6M It starts out so simple and gets kind of prog at the end. 4 years of practice since Good Times, Bad Times have elevated her to another class of musician. Can't wait to see the generation of young performers lucky enough to have this player in their session!

yea her parents are cool as fuk, they supported her fun since day one. That's one reason she's so good. She's just a natural. She never took lessons except a couple not long ago but she stopped. I don't think it helped lol. What blows my mind is the fact that she's kick ass with all types of music. That's VERY rare for a kid and not many adults do it

She was not made to play, like most Japanese kids are. They have had a home studio her whole life and she used to crawl around and show interest in what was going on. She showed interest in the drums, so her father put her on his lap, and the rest is history. Actually been playing since 1.5 yo. She has actually been advising local band members "Try it like this, I think it will sound better." since she was 4 yo. When they tried it, they agreed and made the changes. Adult musicians treat her like an adult and actually look up to her. She plays by ear, and didn't know how to read sheet music forever. 2 years ago, she learned some, but she has made comments that it might be a disadvantage to her to learn how to read music. She has been giving drum lessons since 6 yo. She has videos of the lessons, in case either of you want to improve your drumming skills...LOL Seriously! (no disrespect intended...she's just a musical genius). If you want to see a really funny video about a drummer learning from her check this out. @@Glen.Black. Most kids keep playing just because they loves it. I did too. Same as in kids in other countries. Don't spread this type of stereotype. This kind of prejudice can lead to racism. (I'm not claiming your are racist.)

@Glen.Black. 3 жыл бұрын
@@nhara5914 Thank you. Point taken. Like I said I was repeating what I read from several sources. I'm not racist, or all my favorite musicians wouldn't be Japanese. There are so many awesome musicians coming out of Japan, and not so many in the U.S.
@Glen.Black.

@@nhara5914 Not taking offense to what you have said, but my comment was also taken out of context. I made the comment and sent it, when the father commented between 5:19-5:44 about the stereotype you are talking about. I was informing him that Yoyoka was not made to play. I have also heard some Japanese musicians say themselves in interviews that they were made to play. Anyway. Thanks and enough said..
