Walking you guys through how I fixed my Kawasaki Ninja ZX636 fuel issues. This tutorial applies to the 2007-2017 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R/636 fuel pumps. The pump may be identical to other Kawasaki Ninja models. Check on Bike Bandits.com or with a dealer to confirm.

Here is the part number for the fuel filter. Just $13 to $20. You can buy a new one instead of cleaning it. Kawasaki 49019-0013 Fuel Filter. Thanks for the video.

TonyStunts1 so I changed the fuel pump , the bike was sitting outside of a shop for 3 weeks while getting the clutch plates replaced , a week after I got it back it started to run like poop , I changed the fuel pump but it only fixed a little the idle on first gear still isn't powering after 4th gear is it the fuel injectors or could it be something else ? Would appreciate the help again

How did this work out for you? I have an 05 zx6r and the bike will cut out after riding for a bit. Bike will start back but will happen again after a little while. Possibly the fuel pump, but also hear with the 05 could be the ecu due to poor placement and high heat conta t from exhaust causing to burn out

For those thinking about doing this be careful with cleaning with brake clean as it will eat the O rings. Best to remove them while cleaning. Other than that great how to vid.

Was on my 05 zx6r today and during hard acceleration sometimes the fi light flashes and the whole bike chugs and jerks. It fixes it self after a roll off throttle or a few seconds. It has custom exhaust and no tune I think. Do u think that might be the problem? Or any other ideas ?

I have a 2008 ZX14...lives outside, has had the tank painted.. and can't get over 4,000 RPM... Top of speed 50 mph... I have like a 16th of throttle to use or it bogs out if I hold it all the way open it just starts loping.. been trying to figure out if it's fuel air or electrical..

I've got a pretty unhappy zx6 too. I've used Lucas upper cylinder treatment with fuel injector cleaner. Used to seafoam. I'm done what you do in this video and even tried running without the fuel pump filter. I'm still starving for fuel anything over 8,000 and sometimes it's worse than that sometimes it doesn't want to run 3k RPM. The pump sound strong but I suppose you could be the punk but do you have any other ideas should I take off the fuel bar and look for a clogged somewhere? After I used to Lucas treatment and ran like brand-new so I know it's ability is there but something starving my engine for fuel

Many things on these bikes feel like fuel starvation.. check the workshop manual and you'll a list of things other than fuel/pumps it can be. I would be careful before tearing up the DFI system

I took my zx1400 09 to va Beach yesterday an about have way to the trip my beat start loosen power jumping now power would not go over 4000 rpm . I also noticed acid leak from battery. I was thinking my bike sit all winter. An it could be fuel pump issue. So I call my pops stay the night in va Beach. Because the bike has no power an next morning it doesn't start battery dead. But the new battery doesn't fix it . I will be tearing that fuel pump out an putting a new one in my self it easy to do. If that doesn't fix it I will put new spark plugs an coils

Bostin Aycock I personally have no idea but the best way to learn is to try it. If anything is different it would be the taking apart of the pump. But there is bound to be similarities.

My 2006 zx6r keeps bogging and dies after 20 mins of riding. Filled the tank and didn't have any issues. But with the gas half full it happened . It jerks and dies. Temp is 80c to 90c . Not hot enough for the fan to kick in. It does have the heat shield and insulator for the ecu . When i get done work and drive it home it starts right up and makes it home fine. Any insights ? Bike has 24k on it. Plugs and air filter changed. Supreme gas in it. Could it be fuel filter? Is that red framed bike an 06? I have read that 05 and 06 are different pumps to the 07?

07/08 pumps are different to the 04/05/06 pumps. Have you tried riding with your gas cap open ? Check your vent lines (overflow pipe and vent in the gas cap itself)

Sounds like you aren’t getting any power to the pump. Check fuses.

Those fuel filters are so inexpensive you could changed it instead of washing(not worth it).If you want to wash it use a toothbrush and WD40 for better results!

TonyStunts1 I've done over 5 times now and nothing cleaned the harness just in case and nothing. is there a possibility I some how crossed some wires and fried the pump relay I tested the voltage and I'm getting enough voltage once I turn the key it's supposed to mark opperating voltage for 3 seconds for the priming sequence but nothing I'm trying to find out if the ground wire went bad today which is the joint connector B but Idk exactly were it's located any ideas

+Elm St did you cross any wires on the pump itself? Put the grounds back ? Those are critical. If you are sure you didn't put wires back wrong on the pump itself then check the fuses.

TonyStunts1 I'm almost sure it's the relay box now but Idk what caused it I had it priming correctly but relized that I had forgot one of the small orings so I took it out again and once I put it back together it wouldn't prime I think at some point I touched it with something that was hot and messed up the relay there isn't a fuse for it in the fuse box

I also read that if you damage the fuel level senor it can fk it up so I'm in the spot were Idk if to replace relay box or the entire pump assembly love your powder coated frame by the way
